Gu Shao looked over at Gu Xi, still in a daze, after the two others left and said, “Let’s go.”

Seeing that Gu Xi was still deep in thought and in a daze, Gu Shao had wanted to hold her hand. Then again, recalling Gu Xi’s age, it didn’t seem very appropriate to hold her hand. He placed his hand on top of her head to steer her in their direction.

Gu Xi was very surprised when she saw Gu Xi’s laboratory – this multi-purpose laboratory was very huge. She had thought that Gu Shao’s laboratory would be one of the many on the 7th floor but, as it turned out, Gu Shao’s laboratory took up half of the 7th floor.

“This is amazing,” mumbled Gu Xi.

“What is that again?”

“Hmm, nothing.” Gu Xi shook her head quickly.

Shortly after the two had walked out of the elevator, they ran into two others in laboratory coat. The bespectacled man looked to be older than Gu Shao, probably around Gu Xi’s First Uncle’s age, and the other one was an older female professor.

Both of them were professors belonging to the same department as Gu Shao and looked to be quite familiar with him.

“Ah, we have heard from Professor Yang in the past that you have a daughter. We finally get to meet her now,” said the male professor with a smile.

Next to him, the Professor Yang that he was referring to, looked at Gu Xi with a smile then, turning toward Gu Shao, said, “Her name is Xixi, right? She’s very pretty. She looks a lot like you.”

She was an old friend with HSAU’s principal and had helped some in Gu Xi’s transfer process. As such, she was one of the first to know that Gu Shao had a daughter.

Professor Yang, too, was quite surprised when she found that out.

A smile appeared under Gu Shao’s eyes after he heard Professor Yang’s words. The last part of what she said really nailed it.

“My daughter,” said Gu Shao. He then introduced the other two to Gu Xi, “These are Dad’s coworkers at the center. This is Grandma Yang and this is Uncle Ye.”

Gu Xi nodded and docilely addressed the two.

“Good girl.” And she was so cute!

Professor Ye howled in his head.

He was one who didn’t believe in marriage and never thought about having kids. What was he to do when he was suddenly envious of Professor Gu for having a daughter?

But to have a child, he would first need a wife. To have a wife, he would need to go on arranged dates. He didn’t want to go on arranged dates. AARRGGGHHHH!

Gu Shao didn’t know what was going through his coworker’s head but seeing the troubled look on Professor Ye, Gu Shao decided to walk away with Gu Shao and stay away from this elder with an odd look.
