Chapter 214 - "Boss, Hu Pei is here to see you." (1)

Once they were out of the office, they started talking among themselves.

“He said to file a complaint but how are we going to do that?”

“That’s not even the point anymore. The prototype had already been done. What good would filing a complaint do? Plus, I don’t even think it’s right to file a complaint.”

“To be perfectly honest, I never thought that there were any issues with this topic at all.” At least it was as bad as the professor had portrayed it to be.

“Well, one way or another, I can’t bring myself to file a complaint,” grumbled another person.

Their conscience notwithstanding, even if they were to report them, what good would that do? Was the purpose to wait for the faceslapping to take place?

“What do we do then? Just stall and hope it goes away?”

Before the three assistants could come up with anything, more problem befallen Liu Dehing.

Not too long after the release of the Youth Innovation Competition ranking, two person jumped up online accusing that the “New Safety Brakes Components for Cars” project plagiarized their research subject.

Both of these individuals were top students at Q University and had received several awards in various competitions in the past. As such, they were somewhat well-known in this area as well.

The “New Safety Brakes Components for Cars” project was exactly the one that Liu Dehing’s grandson had entered the competition with.

In the very length article of accusation, the two Q Univerity phD students described the “New Style Car Brake” as their project that they had spent two semesters working on. They were already closed to the tail end of it when their professor simply said that it had “a lot of hidden issues with the technology and safety risks” and it was overturned just like that.

Lo and behold, in just a few days’ time, their design topic had been simplified, reduced, pieced back together, and appeared in the Youth Innovation Competition.

In addition to that declaration, the two also posted their projects design materials and the comparison between theirs and the team in the Youth Innovation Competition.

They bore shocking similarities and, in a few spots, even the terminologies and sentences were unaltered with the latter resembling an abridged version of the former. The deletions appeared to be intentional, so that it would read more like something that could come from high school students rather than phD students.

The deletion job was very well done. If the original design was not exposed, nobody would have been able to tell that the project was problematic.

When Liu Dehing read the exposure online, he was so angry that he smashed his computer.

“These two are nothing but white-eyed wolves!” Liu Dehing shouted out.

Yes, he did get the concept from his own students and given it to his grandson to join the competition with. Nevertheless, even though he had rejected the two’s topic, he had compensated them by approving another project of theirs. He even graded it exceptionally high and provided them with additional research funding and resources.

He never would have expected the two to jump up at this point to foil his plans!

And this was far from being over.

More people showed up after the two Q University students and spoke out online.

There were Liu Dehing’s former partners in business who had spoke out about his disgruntlement toward Liu Dehing for being screwed up by him in the past.

But more of them were Liu Dehing’s past students.

Some of them mentioned how Liu Dehing coerced them into working on all projects other than their graduation research for free. Many of them were for-profit projects that Liu Dehing had taken on on the side.

Some of the phD students were requested by Liu Dehing to help out on his side projects and even blackmail them with their grades and that he would not allow them to graduate if they didn’t complete his projects for him.

A good number of them had their topics being taken away from them by Liu Dehing in the name of their professor.

These stirred up a lot of outrage online. People would always stomp on those who were already down. All of a sudden, almost everyone was scolding Liu Dehing over the internet.

Liu Dehing was enraged inside his office.

“Ludicrous! These were slandering! Slandering of someone in the technology field!”

“News conference! That’s right. I am going to call for a news conference! I must clear myself of all these! And I am going to sue everyone who had slandered me!” Liu Dehing shouted loudly.
