Chapter 227 - "I wagered on you." (4)
“So, I tied with Sheng Xiuyan?” asked Gu Xi.
“Of course not,” explained Dong Mingming as she pointed at the “Royal List”. “Look, you are #1 and God Xiu is #2. Hehe.”
Dong Mingming also filled Gu Xi in as to the reasons behind it.
Their month examinations included 9 different subjects including chemistry. For the ease of calculations, the full marks for every subject was 100 points.
In reality, during the city’s unified examination and future high-school entrance examination, literature, mathematics, and foreign language were weighted heavier.
As such, HASU stated that when the scores were tied, the three main subjects would take precedence in determining the ranking.
Lo and behold, Gu Xi happened to score 1.5 points higher than Sheng Xiuyan in literature.
As such, Gu Xi was still #1 this time around.
“Gu Xi, you are amazing! I love you!!” Dong Mingming jumped up and down in joy and gave Gu Xi a big hug.
Luckily she was “saved” by Gu Xi. Otherwise, with her very unfortunate speed, she wouldn’t have been able to complete 16.5x 5.3 during this semester to save her own life!
Now she would not need to do that. Only those who had lost the bet would need to do them. She couldn’t have been happier!

The minute that Gu Xi had stepped foot in the classroom, it erupted into cheers.

Gu Xi looked over at the classroom when she heard the rejoice and that was when she noticed that nobody was sitting at their own spots. Instead, they were all crowding around the classroom.
Apparently, those who had gone over to the multi-purpose building had already sent the photos of the display boards back and that was why the others were so excited.
But, that was a bit much, no?
Gu Xi grumbled.
Over on this side, seeing that Gu Xi had arrived, the crowd parted ways to make a path for Gu Xi.
Gu Xi walked inside the classroom hesitantly under the enthusiastic applause.
Gu Xi noticed that the first two rows of desks in the classroom had been moved backward, creating a large area in front of the podium. Further, “Award Ceremony” was written across the blackboard in large prints.
The class lead walked over, congratulated Gu Xi, and led her to the center.
Gu Xi was still thinking that this seemed a lot of work just to celebrate me taking first place.
Until she heard what came out of the class lead next……
“First of all, let’s congratulate Classmate Gu Xi for taking the first prize as the ‘God of Gambler’!
“The Award Ceremony is starting right now. Let’s give us a round of applause!”
After the round of applause, a handmade sash was placed on Gu Xi.
“Now we will give Classmate Gu Xi her prize!” said the class lead as she brought Gu Xi to in front of the podium.
The large box that was sitting on the podium was very obvious.
Next, the class lead smiled like an owner of a luxury store and said to Gu Xi, “Gu Xi, all of your prizes are here, and we have separate them all out for you. You have one of each subject for 5.3, 9 for this semester and 9 for the next. Same with Complete Solutions. 9 for this semester, and 9 for next. Finally, you also have 3 Top Students.
“Here, accept your big gift set!”
As soon as the class lead had finished talking, someone from the crowd even made the “dun dun dun dun……” progression music for athletes. A few others even produced firework sounds.
