Chapter 83 - Don't Waste Your Time On Something So Pointless  

Chi Ying has not had a lot of contact with Cheng Huan but she had a pretty good idea what kind of person he was from reading the book. 

He was ruthless and atrocious, like a tyrant back in the feudal era. He was incapable of possessing even a shred of kindness. If she turned down the rose and the ring, the young man in front of her would probably be faced with terrible fate as well. 

Chi Ying sighed almost inaudibly and said, “Alright… just leave it on the table.”

Her tone was gentle and reassuring. Blood had returned to the young man’s face and, looking at her with appreciation, he said, “Thank you so much.”

Before everyone has even recovered from their shock, more ruckus came from the entrance. 

Cheng Huan walked briskly in like there was nobody else around. He had on a suit and the top few buttons on the shirt that he had on inside the suit jacket were unbuttoned. Even his formal wear did not hide his irascible and arrogant temperament. 

Chi Ying could still remember how his eyes were blood-shot red and how he had no idea how much force he was applying on his hand. She could still feel the pain on her clavicle and her stomach acid roiled. 

Any other directors would have kissed up to him and said, “To what do we owe this pleasure, Cheng Huan?”

Gu YuanChen, on the other hand, had no fear in his eyes. His look was cold and his look passed sharply across Cheng Huan.

The actors and actresses that belonged to Huanyu were the first to break the silence and greet Cheng Huan extremely respectfully. There was a hint of intimidation in all of their voices. 

There was no expression on Cheng Huan. He ignored all flatteries and gazes and walked straight toward Chi Ying. 

Chi Ying didn’t even bother giving him a look. 

Qi Yuan, sitting at the host’s seat, raised his brows without showing any emotions. His Adam’s apple rolled and he voluntarily stood up and invited Cheng Huan to join them. 

Cheng Huan narrowed his eyes a bit then, with an unruly and indolent voice, said, “That won’t be necessary. I can sit next to Chi Ying.”

“She’s an actress. It won’t be appropriate for Boss Cheng to sit there,” said Gu YuanChen, his anger very suppressed. 

Cheng Huan acted like he didn’t hear him at all. He was dazed by the pale and slender back in front of him. Her skin was jade-like and her beautiful butterfly-like shoulder blades were somewhat visible. 

Ever since the night of the banquet, he had been thinking about that soft sensation left on his finger tips for the past six months. Unfortunately, that Lu JingYan had been foiling his plans left and right, not allowing him any opportunities to get close to her. That was, until now…

His look was burning and filled with a psychotic desire. 

It was dead silent around them. The smell of alcohol, mixed with a thick sense of anxiousness, spread out frantically in the atmosphere around them. 

Chi Ying said coldly to him, “Then you can go now. There’s no reason for you to waste your time on something so pointless.”

She didn’t even use the respectable form of “you”. Jiang NingNing gasped and broke out in cold sweat.
