Chapter 117 - "Are you going to Tianyi for Xiao Hang?" (2)

After Xiao Jiang and the butler had taken off, Chi Ying pressed Lu JingYan’s body back underneath the blanket and said lightly, “I’m sorry, you only got sick because of me.”

“Why are you apologizing?” Lu JingYan chuckled softly. “You are not hiding from me anymore? Not going to say mean things to upset me anymore?”

“What do you think?” said Chi Ying softly.

“I don’t know,” said Lu JingYan as he shook his head.

Chi Ying remained silent for a little bit and smiled. Her eyes limpid. “Not for the time being.”

Lu JingYan looked at her. His look deepened.

From when she was willing to walk side by side with him in the tourist area to the night that she had taken care of him to her coming to visit him on her own accord today and her outspoken frankness… the series of changes turned into ecstasy that washed over him.

Every cell in his body seemed to be shuddering but, somehow, that seemed to make his back stuff and the tips of his fingers cold.

After a long while, he was finally able to force out a taut and choppy “alright.”

The doting in Lu JingYan’s voice was so obvious that Chi Ying paused for a little and her fingers curled some.

A small began to appear on her and, bending over, she started to organize the document that had fallen on the bed while they were changing his IV.

One after another, Chi Ying picked them up and it made a big stack.

She tidied them up with both hands. Some of the documents were stapled and some were scattered when they fell. She didn’t pay too much attention when she recollected them either.

She wanted to arrange the paper in order but her eyes locked on a few words.

Huanyu Corporation…

Lu JingYan’s profound eyes scanned over the piece of paper on top and frowned.

He lifted up his left hand and took the paper from her. He said in a low voice, “Let me.”

Then, in an effort to avoid the subject of Huanyu, he said all of a sudden, “I heard that you want to join Tianyi Media.

Chi Ying looked at him, surprised. “How did you know?”

“Your class instructor told me,” said Lu JingYan in a low voice. “Is it because of Xiao Hang?”

“No,” said Chi Ying with her eyes lowered and with alacrity.

Looking at her fluttering eyelashes, Lu JingYan’s heart ached and his look started to turn cold.

Chi Ying couldn't help but looked up and said to him, “I am not in love with Xiao Heng and we are not dating. I… lied to you.”

“Really?” Lu JingYan’s fingers froze. There was a subtle wavering in his voice that was almost not noticeable.

Chi Ying blushed a little. “Really.” Transmigrating into a book was too metaphysical and she didn’t know how to explain that to him. She used fortune teller in the past as an excuse but she didn’t think that Lu JingYan would really buy that excuse.

Luckily, Lu JingYan did not pursue that subject. There was a smile in his profound eyes and he said, “Then come to Oushi.”

Chi Ying pursed her lips. “Let me think about it.”

Chi Ying didn’t stay for very long. After chatting for a little while, it was almost time for the kindergarten to let out.

When she was about to leave, she heard Lu JingYan asking her, “Do you have any plans tonight?”

He was still running a slight fever. His voice, when he wasn’t trying to hide it, was a bit muted and also filled with cautiousness.

“Yes.” Chi Ying was taken aback a little. “Why do you ask?”

“No reason.” Just her slight smile in front of him was enough to make his heart skipped a beat. Certain emotion wanted to free itself from him. “Let’s have dinner together some times.”

“Okay, but…” Chi Ying did not turn him down again but reminded him gently. “All you can have is porridge right now.”

Lu JingYan’s eyes flickered.

“I do have plans tonight and I need to head out.” Chi Ying recalled the thick stack of documents on Huanyu and felt bad for him. “Get some rest and stop working while you are sick.”

Lu JingYan acknowledged her softly and asked, “Let me take you back?”

Chi Ying chuckled, “I’m here to visit you because you are sick. I can’t let you take me back.”

As though he wouldn’t hesitate to put on his suit right away and take her home as soon as she said yes.

She straightened up her skirt and stood up. The pretty hem of her dress swayed when she stood up.

“Bye for now.” She gave him a tender smile. They shall see each other again.
