Several other patrons had already heard XingXing’s complaint as he wasn’t speaking softly. Now that they have heard the boss lady asking the person to leave, all the more they didn’t try to refrain from looking over.
Li Kangyi was not happy that he had turned into the center of attention, but he dared not do or say anything. Never mind that there were so many people watching him right now, the possible relationship between the kiddo and his boss was enough for him to tread lightly.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare your child.” He chuckled dryly. Looking at his own watch, he found an excuse for himself. “Yeah, I am in a hurry and don’t think I will be able to make it today anyway. I will be back on a different day.”

8:30 PM, Jiang MingYuan finally finished his day’s work. He turned off his computer and picked up his suit jacket lying next to him.
His phone ran right at the moment, and the caller ID made him even more irritated.
Irritated or not, he still must answer the call. He placed the phone next to his ear.
“Mom.”
“Are you done for the day yet?” The voice from the other end was soft and fragile but her tone left no room for negotiation. “I had the chef make a few dishes that you like. Why don’t you come home for dinner tonight?”
“I have something else to take care of…”
“I’ve already talked to Xiao Zhang. He said you didn’t have any networking that you need to go to tonight,” said Mother Jiang. “Put your work aside for now. That will never end. We haven’t gotten together in a while. I miss you.”
“Alright.” As his other, Gu Mingli knew how to manipulate him. Jiang MingYuan gave up and said, “Okay, I will be there in a little bit.”
Inside of the car, his assistant told him about his schedule for tomorrow.
“There’s an opening ceremony at 7 AM tomorrow. You have a meeting with Boss Li of Manhua in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, you have…”
He was midway through talking when he was interrupted abruptly by Jiang MingYuan. “Are they still short an executive assistant over at Hangyun?”
Hangyun was one of the subsidiaries of Jiang’s Corporation. It hasn’t been around for very long and its achievements mediocre. It wasn’t talked about a lot normally. The assistant was somewhat curious why his boss was suddenly curious about a small role such as an executive assistant.
Would that director over there be someone special?
He tried to recall who was the director at Hangyun, but Jiang MingYuan carried on before he could recall who it was, “I have enough help over here. Send Xiao Zhang over to Hangyun.”
Oh, so that’s what it was…
The assistant had an idea. Xiao Zhang was someone sent over by the boss’s mom. His work was average but his ability to spy was superb. The boss had been putting up with it for a while now and finally decided that enough was enough.
He nodded and said, “Okay.”
The car drove on Panshan Highway for a while and finally arrived at Shandian Mansion.
This is the highest point in City C. Looking down from the peak, the entire city skyline could be seen.
The front gate opened up slowly in front of them, and the car drove inside and stopped in front of the front entrance. Jiang MingYuan just got out of the car when a woman came up to him.
“You are back. I timed it just right and the food is still hot. Perfect timing.” She said to Jiang MingYuan and there was undeniable pride in her eyes.
Truth was, her son was young and successful. He had taken the corporation back from the group of old men and made it more successful than it was before. Everybody praised that she had done a good job with him.
Everything was great about him except when it came to his marriage. She wasn’t sure if it was because he had been a playboy for too long when he was younger, but of all the women who had been throwing themselves at him over the recent years, he didn’t care for any of them.
He was in no hurry, so she must put more effort into it. Gu Mingli smiled and put her arm through his and felt that her decision couldn’t be more right.
The chandelier glitter inside the mansion’s living room. On top of the dinner table in the dining room, there were 5 ~ 6 different dishes. A girl walked out of the kitchen when the two of them walked inside.
She placed the plate in her hands onto the table and turned around. She greeted Mother Jiang first, then looking over at Jiang MingYuan, she said shyly, “Boss Jiang.”
