Apparently, Liu Dongchang was skeptical about that. He turned toward Meng Qingqing and asked, “Was that true, Qingqing?”
Meng Qingqing quickly looked up at him and nodded.
Liu Dongchang reached his hand out to rub her on her head and Meng Qingqing wanted to dodge reflexively. She had, however, stopped herself from moving back when she saw that Liu Dongchang’s face had dropped.
Liu Dongchang patted her a couple times over her head and said as though he was talking to a pet. “Just let me know if someone bullies you. I am your boyfriend now.”
Meng Qingqing’s face turned beet red. It looked like it could start bleeding with a slight poke.
Liu Dongchang finally went to open the door feeling contented. He even gave Tong Xuelu a complacent look while he was at it.
Tong Xuelu almost vomited. She felt as though she was half way through eating an apple and saw half a worm inside.
She only wished that she could vomit all the food that was still in her stomach!
She, however, did not plan to meddle and just walked inside with the rest of them.
