Chapter 358 - "You are right about that. My grandson is amazing!" (3)

The Commerce Department had just announced the news this afternoon and people were already coming to buy from them the next day.

As for coming here to purchase spice packets, some liked the idea more than others. Those who embraced the idea felt that it saved them the hassle of preparing it themselves.

As for those who didn’t, that was because their initial idea was to get their hands on the recipe. This was not the result that they had hoped for.

Nevertheless, the decision had already been made and they dared not voice their objection.

They did, however, felt that Comrade Tong Xuelu was truly somebody. She was able to claw her way out of such a dire situation.

Amazing!

The Sun family had moved back to the military compound and decided to visit their old friends once they had settled in.

Sun Manrou walked out of her house in a moderately new coat and women shoes with a T-strap and bucket. Her hair braided into two braids and she looked modern and eye-catching.

Sun Wuyang’s eyes lit up immediately and he winked at her. “Xiao Rou, something is going on here. You didn’t dress up the last two days. All of a sudden you are dressing up on the day that we are heading over to the Wen’s?”

Sun Manrou gave him a stare. “What nonsense are you talking about, Third Brother? We’ve just moved back two days ago and I had yet to put away my clothes. How was I supposed to dress up?”

Sun Wuyang’s mouth cracked open. “Sure, sure, sure. Whatever you say. Let’s get going, alright?”

Blushing, Sun Manrou took a look at the mirror before she hurried behind Sun Wuyang.

It was Uncle Zong who got the door when they arrived at the Wen’s.

Uncle Zong recognized Sun Wuyang right away. “Aren’t you Xiao Wuyang? You looked exactly the same as when you were a child. You hadn’t changed one bit!”

Sun Wuyang smiled and said, “Uncle Zong, I did get a lot taller than I used to. How could I not have changed one bit?”

Uncle Zong nodded repeatedly. “Yes, you have gotten taller indeed. And stockier than you used to.”

Sun Wuyang, “Is Grandpa Wen home? My folks asked me to bring some gifts over. They will come visit in person after they have returned to the city.”

Uncle Zong took a look at the girl standing next to him. “Oh, yes, Commander is right inside.”

Seeing Uncle Zong’s look on her, Sun Manrou smiled and said, “Hi Uncle Zong, I am Sun Manrou, Third Brother’s cousin.”

Uncle Zong nodded and the three of them walked inside.

Once inside, Old Mr. Wen happened to walk out of his room. He was a little surprised when he saw Sun Wuyang.

Sun Wuyang quickly greeted him.

Everyone sat down on the couch after exchanging some pleasantries.

Sun Manrou smiled and said, “I finally get to meet you, Old Mr. Wen. You are as righteous as I have imagined.”

Old Mr. Wen lifted his brows. “You know me, Fellow Comrade?”

Sun Manrou shook her head gently, “I don’t know you, Old Mr. Wen, but I know your grandson Comrade Wen.”

She then shared the incident of how she had helped Wen Rugui guarded his luggage on the train and how he had, in turn, saved her later on.

“It was all thanks to Comrade Wen. I couldn’t imagine how things would turn out if it wasn’t for him. I had wanted to come and thank him in person right away but Comrade Wan is such an altruistic person that he looked for nothing in return for his good deeds.”

“Here I thought that I would never been able to repay him for what he had done for me. Little did I know that my Third Brother grew up with Comrade Wan and they were close friends. After I have learned that, I knew that Grandpa Wen must be a very outstanding individual to have been able to raise someone as remarkable as Comrade Wan. That is why I asked to tag along on my Third Brother’s visit today.”

She stuck her tongue out a little as she said that. “I hope Grandpa Wen doesn’t think that I talk too much.”
