Chapter 451 - "That you won't be able to have children!" (1)

The day the school started, Tong Xuelu rode her bicycle to school to talk to the teacher regarding Tong Jiaming’s matters.

Tong Jiaming’s academy achievements were there for everyone to see. The reason his class teacher did not suggested for him to skip a grade was hoping that he would boost the school’s enrollment rate.

Now that he brought that up himself and that his guardian had come in person, naturally, his class teacher had no reason to decline or get in his way.

Not to mention that Tong Xuelu had quite a reputation among City Nan Grade School. Nobody would wish to offend her.

The school let Tong Xuelu know that they would reach out the City Nan High School and to arrange for Tong Jiaming’s examinations.

When Tong Xuelu walked out of the office, it started to rain.

Rain in springtime was rare. There were new sprouts on the wilted branches of the trees and they looked like hope.

The wind after the rain was mixed with fresh soil smell. Tong Xuelu shuddered a little. She was just contemplating whether to borrow an umbrella from Jiang Danhung when she heard a conversation from around the corner.

“Teacher Jiang, let me tell you, Comrade An really isn’t a bad choice. Sure, he is 20 years your senior but all of his three sons were grown. You don’t even need to have your own children and you can be an instant mother-in-law. Wouldn’t that be nice?”

“Teacher Qin, I believe I have already made myself clear that I have no desire to get married again. And, even if I am to remarry, I will for sure pick someone that I want to marry. I don’t believe that Comrade An is a good match for me.”

“Well, can you point out exactly why he isn’t a good match? I will need to give him an answer.”

“His age. I feel that he is too old for me. And this his family is too complicated. I would like a simpler family.”

“Teacher Jian, you need to get your head straight. You’ve been married before and not that young yourself either. Not to mention that you had turned in your husband and father-in-law in the past. The only reason that Lao An is willing to marry you is because you have a house!”

Jiang Danhung’s face burned beet red. “It doesn’t matter that nobody wants to marry me. I don’t want to get married anyway. I would rather be single for life than marrying someone like that!”

Teacher Qin, being rebutted, was also angry. She grumbled as he walked away.

“Excuse me for trying the meddle. Let me be strike by lightning if I ever try to meddle into your business again!

“You want a young man given your situation. Hah! If it wasn’t for that house, not even an 80-year-old man would take a look at you. And you said you don’t want to marry. Sure! Spend the rest of your life alone with that house then!”

Jiang Danhung bit down hard on her lips and her chest heaved up and down from anger. She didn’t expect to run right into Tong Xuelu when she turned around.

Tong Xuelu felt a little embarrassed. “Big Sister Danhung, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop. I just happened to stop here to stay dry from the rain.”

Jiang Danhung shook her hand. “I’m not blaming you. You’ve seen me in much worse situations than this.”

Tong Xuelu, “What is up with that teacher? Did you ask her to set you up?”

The reliability of the matchmaker was very important. Some people didn’t just have poor eyesight, they were even blind in their hearts.

She remembered someone setting up an arranged date for one of her plastic sisters before her transmigration.

The matchmaker claimed that the guy was 1.8 meter tall and handsomer than a star. Her plastic sister was very excited. Low and behold, when she finally met the guy, he didn’t even reach 1.6 ~ 1.7 meters and he was not attractive at all.

Jiang Danhung shook her head and a look of disgust crossed her eyes. “No, she did that on her own. I’ve already many times that I am not interested but she still wanted me to go and meet the guy.”

Jiang Danhung was already not well liked at school. She worried that if she was too blunt in rejecting, it would make matters worse. As such, she finally folded and went to meet the guy once.

Not only was that An guy old enough to be her father, he was just a security guard at a factory. More importantly, he had three sons. As soon as she saw her, he immediately said that his entire family would move into her house after they were wedded.

Jiang Danhung had already sold her uncle’s house and bought herself another one within the city limit. She was no longer living in the school dormitory.

Tong Xuelu, too, was disgusted by the story. “I agree with what you had said earlier. You are better off single than marrying trash like that!”

No wonder so many women in modern time had phobia about getting married. Other than the fact that many men were just disgusting, there was also the factor that marriage did not offer women any sort of protection of their rights.

Had Jiang Danhung marry that Lao An, she would not only have to serve an old man, she would also have to wait on his entire family and let them take over her house. What was she in it for?

That he was old. And ugly?

Jiang Danhung finally smiled after she heard that. “Xuelu, I noticed that you really aren’t like the others. Both you and Comrade Wan are nice people!”

Truth was, Jiang Danhung do hope to have a nice family. What she didn’t want was to marry just anyone.

She was already forced into her first marriage. If she was to get married again, she wanted to look for someone that she wanted to marry.

Tong Xuelu, “You are very unique too. I trust that you will find your right match one day.”

Tong Xuelu followed Jiang Danhung back to her dormitory to borrow an umbrella from her after their encounter.
