Deputy Director Zheng said with a solemn face, “What do you mean you have nothing to say? Is it true or not true!”

Yan Yongan felt aggrieved, “Yes, I did it.”

An administrator quickly jotted that down.

Deputy Director Zheng had someone brought Tong Zhenzhen over.

The door opened after a little while and Tong Zhenzhen, who had bandages over her head, was brought inside.

Deputy Director Zheng said, “Tong Zhenzhen, you had told us earlier that Yan Yongan was the one who forced you into this but you were not able to provide us with any evidence. You two can talk it out right here right now.”

Tong Zhenzhen’s hand trembled as she looked into Yan Yongan’s eyes.

She didn’t want to blame everyone onto Yan Yongan either, but she really did not want to get send back to the ranch again!

Deputy Director Zheng, “And what do you have to say to that, Yan Yongan?”

Everybody there, including Tong Zhenzhen, assumed that Yan Yongan would started to yell and shout.

Surprisingly, all he did was look at Tong Zhenzhen and nodded. “She was telling the truth. It was all me.

“I forced Tong Zhenzhen to obey me with my power, threatening her that I would never let her leave the ranch. She only played along because she was forced into it.”

The interrogation room turned silent for a few seconds.

Tong Zhenzhen looked at Yan Yongan as though she was looking at a ghost. She could not believe what she was hearing.

Deputy Director Zheng frowned. “Yan Yongan, do you have any idea how many years you will be going to jail with that confession?”

Yan Yongan said nonchalantly, “I know what I am talking about.”

Tong Zhenzhen finally recollected herself and she shrieked, “You heard him, Deputy Director Zheng! I told you I was forced into it but you didn’t believe me. Can I go now?”

Deputy Director Zheng had not expected this outcome either. He had the two locked up with a long face.

Tong Xuelu learned that Yan Yongan had saved Tong Zhenzhen by sacrificing himself that night.

Was that what true love was like?

That thought made her shudder.

Su Yueshen frowned deeply. “As the two gave the same story, that Yan Yongan was the mastermind behind it all. I’m afraid that Tong Zhenzhen will be released within the next couple of days.”

He never thought that Yan Yongan would still defend Tong Zhenzhen after all this.

Tong Xuelu, too, was baffled. “Okay, there’s nothing we can do about that. You just turn in more dirt on Yan Yongan tomorrow as we have planned.”

Without Yan Yongan to back her, Tong Zhenzhen would just be like a tiger without its fangs. She wouldn’t make it very far by herself.

Su Yueshen nodded.

The Prosector’s Office received another report from Su Yueshen again the next day and things went out of control again.

The shockwave sent through the office this time around made the last time seemed like child’s play.

Deputy Director Zheng said, “Comrade Su, can you really prove what you are claiming?”

“Yes, I have material evidence as well as eyewitness.” Su Yueshen handed over some documents as he spoke.

Deputy Director Zheng looked through the documents carefully and pointed out one name on there. “How come this witness only has a first name?”

Su Yueshen lowered his voice, “That’s because……”

After listening to Su Yueshen, Deputy Director Zheng remained silent for a long while and finally said, “I need to talk to Director Zhou. You wait here.”

Then he walked out of the office in a hurry.

Deputy Director Zheng did not return for a whole hour and his eyes were beaming with decisive lights. “Director Zhou had given me his approval. We will make it big this time!”

Su Yueshen had been very anxious during the wait. He had never been so nervous his entire life.

He did not think that Director Zhou would buy in to his idea, but he sure was glad that he was wrong!

It was the first time that Su Yueshen’s face had lit up in days. “Thank you. Thank you for trusting me on this!”

Deputy Director Zheng patted him on his shoulder. “I’ve known you since you were a kid. I always thought that you could achieve great things with you ability but……” It just wasn’t meant to be. Him running into someone like that.

Su Yueshen’s lips curved, “I don’t want to think too much right now. I just want those who committed such an heinous crime be punished for their crimes!”

Deputy Director Zheng sighed. “Go on now and bring your secret witness.”

Su Yueshen nodded and left the Prosecutor’s office. He then went over to Tong Xuelu’s on his bicycle.
