He learned carefully and picked up the bones in the fish one by one. He was slow, but he did his task seriously. The white flesh of the fish inside the little ceramic bowl had no bones at all. Under the bright light of the restaurant, it looked very tempting.
After Lu Jue was done picking out all the bones and placing the fish next to Ning Zhi, he looked at her with anticipation, waiting for her compliments.
At this time, the man outside grabbed the back of the little boy’s collar roughly. He was so forceful that the little boy took a few steps backward and almost fell onto the ground.

Lu Jue blinked. He saw that the little boy was struck again. He nodded. “Yes help.”
“Alright, let’s go help him.” Ning Zhi stood up and said to Fang Yuzhou and Wei Xing, “We will be right back.”
Fang Yuzhou had overheard their conversation and couldn’t help but ask, “Sister Zhizhi, are you going to help that little boy?”
“Yes. Lu Jue and I had seen that little boy before. We sort of know him.”
“I’ll go with you.” Fang Yuzhou’s fists had hardened a while back when she saw the man keep hitting the little boy.
The boy was so young. What did he know? What kind of scum would hit a child the way that he did? He shouldn’t do that, even if he was the parent. This was child abuse.
“It’s alright. We will be back soon. You should start with the food.” Ning Zhi left, holding Lu Jue’s hand in hers.
