Mother Lu quickly related the message to Father Lu after she had received the call. “Send our men over immediately. This is where Xiao Jue is.”

“I heard his voice earlier. He had already escaped from the kidnappers! We must send our men fast! Now!”

Mother Lu was too emotional to think or act. She had no idea what had happened, but she would be able to locate her son with the location tag.

“Mrs. Lu, I will inform my colleague right now, and they will rush over there right away,” said a cop nearby.

Lu Shenyuan looked worried, very much like an older brother who worried about his younger brother. He turned toward the cops and said to them, “Please, do have my little brother return quickly.”

“Don’t worry. Lu Jue will be saved shortly if this location is real.”

Lu Shenyuan nodded.

He walked inside the bathroom and pulled out another cell phone from his pants pocket. He sent a text out: Location compromised. Kill Lu Jue now. Run.

After that, Lu Shenyuan pulled the SIM card out of the phone, broke it into halves, tossed the pieces into the toilet, and flushed them off.

Ning Zhi and Lu Jue quickly ran around the woods.

She and Lu Jue did not go very far before Gao Jiang and another man were on their tails.

Ning Zhi was in her invisible state and, as such, did not feel tired. Dragged by Lu Jue, the two ran forward at high speed.

Gao Jiang and his man chased behind them. They were both tall and well-built, much stronger than Heizi and Crew Cut. Ning Zhi and Lu Jue would not be able to take them.

Ning Zhi tried madly to come up with ways to get away as the two men closed in on them.

“You keep running. I’ll go stall one of them.” She had no idea how much longer it would take Mother Lu’s men to get here. All she could do right now was to buy some time.

“Odd Big Sister.” Lu Jue held onto her hand tightly.

“Protect yourself, and don’t let them catch up to you. I will be back to look for you shortly.” Having said that, Ning Zhi pulled her own hand back and walked back toward the direction that they came from.

“Run! I will never come to see you again if you don’t run.” Lu Jue’s chapped lips were completely pale. He pinched his lips shut tightly, not liking being separated from her at all, but he had no choice but to listen to Ning Zhi. He kept his head lowered as he ran forward obediently.

Ning Zhi saw the two men running toward her. She reached her leg out to try and kick one of the men as he ran past her.

Her kick missed, but she was able to trip him. It was Gao Jiang’s underling.

“Get up and give chase.” Gao Jiang did not come over to help his underling get up. He had received the message that they must kill Lu Jue now.

Gao Jiang picked up speed as he ran toward Lu Jue.

Gao Jiang’s underling fell violently. He pushed himself up from the ground, but as he was just about to resume running, Ning Zhi picked up little rocks on the ground and started pelting him with them.

Looking at the little rocks flying at him, the underling was stunned. What was going on?

While he was in a daze, she walked a distance behind him and with the momentum of charging forward, kicked him violently on his back from behind.

She wasn’t strong enough to actually hurt the man, but with the rapid kicking and attack, she was able to make him dizzy. The man was dodging left and right.

Ning Zhi stopped. She grabbed a handful of dirt and threw them at his eyes.
