Chapter 400 - He looked quietly at Ning Zhi from time to time with a smile. (1)

Mother Lu quickly had the others released her son. She picked up a piece of tissue and wanted to help dry him some. “It’s alright. It’s alright. We are done with the medicines.”

Lu Jue dodged his mother’s hand, turned, and had his back to her.

Mother Lu’s heart ached when she saw her son lonesome back and his head lowered. She did not wish to force fed him his medications if she could help it.

But her son’s condition had been worsening and he needed the medicine to help with his treatment. The doctor had prescribed him some psychotropic and neuropsychiatric medication that was meant to calm him and/or relieve his self-destructing acts.

As Lu Jue refused to take the medicines, Mother Lu had to have others force fed him every time.

The way that Mother Lu was crying. There was no doubt in Ning Zhi’s mind that she would pass out at any given minute. Apparently, Father Lu had the same thought. Wooing his wife, he told the male nurse to take good care of Lu Jue before he left with his wife.

“Do you think that Xiao Jue is suffering too?” Sobbing, Mother Lu looked weary. Her hair to both sides of her was messy. She was not her usual delicate and classy self.

Even Father Lu’s handsome face was weathered by time. There was sadness in his eyes even though he hid them from his face. “Don’t worry. I will continue to search for experts all over the world. We will find a way to cure Xiao Jue.”

Mother Lu wiped away tears from the corners of her eyes and held onto the last of her hope. She no longer hoped that her son would live like a normal person. She would be happy if only he would stop hurting himself and live him life peacefully.

The room quieted down again.

Lu Jue’s face and the collar of his shirt were wet from the earlier struggle but he would not allow anyone to touch him.

The male nurse was picking up the cup as well as the table and chairs that were knocked down by Lu Jue from earlier.

Ning Zhi’s eyes were filled with pain. She walked over to Lu Jue, pulled up her sleeves and carefully wiped away the water from his face while avoiding his wounds.

Lu Jue gave her a quick look before looking away again.

Ning Zhi looked over at Lu Jue’s wrists. He was held down earlier and the male nurse had to exert a lot of force to restrain him. His wrist was very red from that.

Ning Zhi picked up his hand, lowered her head, and gently blew at the part that was red. She carefully stroke his wrist. She knew that he could not feel pain but it still hurt her to see.

“You should stop struggling and cooperate docilely next time when you take the medicines. What if you get hurt?” Ning Zhi knew exactly how much Mother Lu and Father Lu loved Lu Jue. They would never force fed him medications if that was not their last resort.

“If you really don’t want to take the medications, then don’t do anything that is self-harming.” Ning Zhi had no idea whether Lu Jue would listen to her but she had no choice but to continue repeating what she had to say. She would be leaving him in two days’ time.

Lu Jue did not respond to her.

Ning Zhi wooed him. “You can tell Mom and Dad when you are unhappy or unwilling. They will listen to you.”

Ning Zhi lowered her head and kissed Lu Jue on his reddened wrist. She touched his hair that was so long that it was covering his eyes. “Be good and don’t hurt yourself anymore.”

The eyelids that were lowered fluttered. Lu Jue looked quietly at his wrist that was kissed by Lu Jue through his hair.

He finally slowly said after a long while, “Mmm.”

Ning Zhi looked at him, delighted. “You’ve heard me. And you’ve promised me.”

She looked very emotional. Lu Jue had listened to her. She held up Lu Jue’s face with both hands and lifted it up. She wasn’t able to see his reaction with his bangs over his eyes.

Ning Zhi curved her eyes at him. “Your hair is too long. What do you say I trim them a little for you?”
