The next day, Su Ran woke up early in the morning excitedly even though there was no competition.

[su]: Son! Are you awake?

Su Ran sent Su Han a test and Su Han responded back instantly.

[Han]: Yeah, what’s up?

Su Ran could see her son’s cocky look even through the screen.

[su]: Oh, nothing much. I just want to know if you are up already.

Su Ran texted him back.

Su Ran had wanted to go straight to Su Han’s room to look for him but, recalling that he shared a room with Lu Shao, that was probably not the best idea. So she resorted to ping him on WeChat.

[Han]: … …

When they arrived at her room, Su Ran was baffled when neither the father nor the son showed any signs of leaving.

“Do you want to have spicy and numbing crawl fish?”

That was Su Han who asked.

Hearing that, Su Ran busted out laughing at her son’s there-is-nothing-that-an-order-of-crawl-fish-can’t-solvelook.

“Psst. There’s no need. The production team had provided us with free dinner.”

“Then do you want to go for a walk?”

“Why would anyone go for a walk in the middle of the night?” This was Lu Shao.

“By the way, Instructor Yan, was there something you wanted to talk to me about?” asked Su Ran.

“Oh, right. We’ve almost forgotten our main purpose. We have just received an last-minute notification from the programme team informing us that the filming of the competition is being pushed back and there we will not be meeting tomorrow.” The notification came very last minute. It seemed like the request came from the production side but they did not elaborate on the exact reason.

“Yes. And since we ran into you, we thought we’d just give you a heads up. We figured all of the competitors will be receiving formal notifications at the same time in a little bit.”

“Oh, no competition tomorrow, huh?” Su Ran was a little surprised but she nodded anyway and thanked them.

At the same time, it was much less harmonious over where the father and son were.

Su Han missed the minorly surprised look that had crossed her son’s face and bought into what Lu Shao had told her.

She then saw Lu Shao gave Su Han a resentful glance and said to her, “He fussed about tagging along so I brought him with.”

Su Han’s eyes widened all of a sudden when he heard that.

What a shameless man! When did he fuss about wanting to tag along?

Even if he was to fuss about wanting to come, he would not have fussed to Lu Shao!

Not that he had the chance to clear himself under his current situation.

Lu Shao, watching the boy with so much he wanted to say but couldn’t, curved his lips slightly before turning and giving Su Ran a tender look.
