“Huh?!”
“There’s an intimate scene between me and the actress tomorrow?”
“Oh? That…”
With the abrupt change of topic, the little assistant quickly pulled up in his head the scenes for tomorrow that the director team had shared with him.
After he was done thinking them through, he said, “Yeah. That’s the scene when Ding Qiao and Yun Tan met each other. Remember how Ding Qiao accidentally fell and ended up on Yun Tan’s lap?”
“Is that the only one?”
“Yeah, why do you ask, Brother Luo?”
“Have them avoid that.”
“? ?”
The little assistant looked up in surprise. “I have looked through the script in advance and there was nothing with actual skin-to-skin contact – including this scene where she falls into your lap. You, you sure you want to avoid that scene?”
“Mmhmm.”
“But wouldn’t that make you seem unprofessional as an actor?”
“… …”
A dull chuckle came from the backseat into the night.
With incredible coldness, “When have I ever had something like that?”
The little assistant: … Good point.
Never mind about professionalism. There were times when he felt that his boss lacked morals. Correction, he lacked the parts that made him feel human.
Naturally, the little assistant would never dare say that out loud. He could only bring up the second issue that he could foresee. “If we want them to change any of the scenes now, we are going to have to use your privileges. Meddling with the filming is not a big deal. But if and when those on the production team finds out, don’t you think it will draw too much attention?”
Luo Xiu sighed lightly.
The little assistant didn’t understand the meaning behind the sigh. Baffled, he asked, “Did, did I say something wrong?”
Luo Xiu, “No.”
The little assistant felt better. “Then what do you suggest we –”
Luo Xiu interrupted him lightly. “What you said was true if we go with your method.”
Being around Luo Xiu for two years, the little assistant might not have gotten much smarter, but he had at least figured out Luo Xiu’s personality.
He went along docilely. “But?”
Luo Xiu removed his spectacles and asked slowly. “There are many different ways to handle this. Can’t you go with a cleaner one?”
The little assistant, “?”
There were a lot of methods? Then why, why was it that all he could think of was to use their privilege?
Luo Xiu opened up the storage on the arm rest, pulled out the cleaning cloth and cleaned his lens with it. He then placed his spectacles into the custom box on the armrest.
The little assistant had yet to figure out a cleaner method.
Luo Xiu turned and looked out of the window. “Never mind. I’ll take care of it myself.”
The little assistant: QwQ
He was, once again, resented by his boss because he wasn’t as evil as him.
… … He refused to admit that it was a matter of IQ! Never!
The next day.
Still in the evening.
The little assistant dropped Luo Xiu off at the studio. Unfortunately, he asked the entire way over but he had yet to find out from his boss what was this “cleaner” method.
After arriving at the studio and, just when he was about to keep at it, someone from the director team had come over.
“Assistant Xu, Director Geng wants to talk to Luo Xiu.” It was a field service personnel who came to relay the message.
The little assistant asked dubiously. “It still quite a while before filming time. He wants us over there now?”
“Ugh, I don’t think it’s for shooting. It looks like there is something else that Director Geng wants to talk to him about. I, I don’t know any specifics about it.”
His eyes were dodgy when he talked. Apparently, he did know some of the “specifics”. But the little assistant didn’t pry further. He nodded and said, “Alright. I’ll let Brother Luo know.”
“MMhmm.”
The little assistant returned and passed the message onto Luo Xiu. Luo Xiu wasn’t surprised at all. That further confirmed the little assistant’s speculation:
“Brother Luo, did the director team ask for you now because the cleaner method that you’ve mentioned has worked?”
“I guess we will find out soon enough.”
“Oh.”
When they arrived at the director team, they were not able to meet with Geng Hongyu immediately. The reason was quite simple: “There is someone else in the conference room right now and Director Geng said not to interrupt them. Why don’t you wait here for a little bit?”
“Aye.” The little assistant stopped the messenger. “Who’s Director Geng meeting with inside?”
“Zong Shizi.”
“… Eh?”
