Luo Xiu stood there with his eyes lowered.

The silence was somewhat eerie.

Gu Nian paused for a little. She was just about to ask more question when she saw the man let out a deep breath.

A second or two later, Lin Xi looked back up and there was tenderness in his eyes.

“I apologize. It always takes me a little while to get out of character.”

“No! It’s fine!” Gu Nian gave him a thumbs up. Her deer eyes round, her reassured him in an unreserved manner. “Super awesome!”

“Thank you.”

“Let’s hurry up to have our makeup removed then – your hair looks very nice,” said Gu Nian as she scooped up a bundle of his hair and sniffed at it. She then frowned and said, “Why did it smell like polyester? It must not feel good to be wearing it.”

When she was done saying that, she noticed that Luo Xiu’s body was stiffened and his eyes were lowered.

Gu Nian, with his long hair still in her hand, paused.

Noticing that her action was problematic, she quickly let go of the hair and took a step back. “I’m sorry. I…”

“It’s alright.”

Luo Xiu interrupted her and took a step forward immediately.

The distance between them returned to what it was before.

“What do you mean by ‘this area’? What area?” Assistant Director Lin turned around and, when he saw the look on Geng Hongyu, he didn’t know what to make of it. “With her lazy personality, you expect her to become an actress?”

“I’m just asking. She has strong empathy.”

“Haha, she wouldn’t be able to write a script like this one if she doesn’t.”

By the time most of the workers in the director’s area had dispersed, Assistant Director Lin’s smile lessened. He leaned closer to Geng Hongyu and asked in a low voice, “What’s the matter Director Geng?”

“The scene looked amazing to me. If we add in close up of Luo Xiu, it would capture a lot of attention -- but you didn’t seem happy about it?”

After a few seconds, he said with uncertainty, “I didn’t believe you when you said Luo Xiu had feelings for Gu Nian.”

“You do now?” Assistant Director Lin smiled.

Geng Hongyu remained silent for a long while and finally sighed. “The way he looked at Gu Nian at the very end. Did he know that he was so…”
