Even though he was prepared, it still took Luo Xiu a couple steps back before he was able to stabilize himself. The bone-chilling coldness disappeared from his eyes and his first reaction was to look check on the girl that he was holding in his arms.

He wasn’t as lucky this time.

His movement’s range was too wide and, as such, the girl who was in deep sleep was woken up by the violent rocking.

Nevermind the shriek from the garbage from just a few meters away that sounded like a pig being slaughtered.

It was impossible for Gu Nian to stay asleep.

The moment she opened her eyes, under her dizziness, the first things that she saw were blurry halos followed by a shadow over her from a lowered head.

“Gu Nian?”

A voice rang next to her ear. It was low and still had a hint of coldness that was not yet completely gone.

“Uh.”

Gu Nian’s response sounded like a moan.

The dizziness from the alcohol reached its max and she could think straight at all. All she could hear was the annoying shriek.

Gu Nian closed her eyes for a bit and even pushed herself against Luo Xiu’s chest some more. With sleepiness and drunkenness, she mumbled, “What is that noise……”

Luo Xiu looked up. His eyes that only had tenderness in the past were now cold.

But he smiled.

At least his voice was still mild or even tender when it reached Gu Nian’s ears.

“Someone got drunk and fell on the patio.”

Gu Nian mumbled, “Oh. Is it serious? Should I… should I call 120 for him……”

“NO need.”

With the girl in his arms, Luo Xiu turned and walked out of the patio, ignoring the shriek that was coming from behind them.

His smile returned to his normal tenderness. His voice soft, mellow, and leisurely, “At most a couple of broken ribs. Someone will come and take care of the garbage.”

As Luo Xiu walked into the elevator lobby with Gu Nian in his arms, he saw the frantic security guard exiting the elevator as its door opened, obviously drawn by the noises from the patio.

The security guard looked at him a bit suspiciously when he saw him. It looked as though he was about to say something.

“Good evening.”

The young man’s eyes were tender and he nodded slightly.

Even holding a girl that was half sleep in his arms, the young man’s motions still exuded a noble coldness.

He looked like a young master born to a prominent family.

As a security guard at a 4-star hotel, the security guard could tell at least that much. He dared not offend the young man. He nodded back at him before he asked hesitantly, “Good evening, Sir…… Did something happen over on the second-floor patio?”

Luo Xiu smiled tenderly and said, “Someone fell. Shouldn’t be a big problem though. You can check your security footage for the details.”

The calming and reassuring words from the man relaxed the security guard. “Alright. Thank you, Sir.”

The security guard took a step aside carefully and allow the man carrying the girl to enter the elevator. “Which floor are you heading to?”

“The 7thfloor.”

“Alright.”

The security guard quickly walked out of the elevator after pressed the 7th floor button for the man who was carrying a girl in his arms.

In the last few seconds before the elevator door closed up, the security guard, who was just about to walk away, heard the man said from inside of the elevator, his voice still soft and tender, “I am in Room 717. Dial the number I have left with the front desk if you have any follow-up questions. Do not come and interrupt me upstairs. Thank you.”

“……?”

The elevator door shut and it started ascending under the daze of the security guard.

Gu Nian was woken up involuntarily outside of Suite 717. As much as Luo Xiu did not wish to wake her, he obviously could not fish out his key card while holding the girl with both arms.*

He had no choice but to wake up the girl who had almost fallen asleep again.

Gu Nian woke up reluctantly.

After her feet were on the ground, she leaned against the textured wall of the hotel hallway like a little gecko. Tired and drunk, she grumbled, “This bed is so hard. It is not comfortable at all.”

Luo Xiu couldn't help but smiled quietly after he had swiped his room key.

He turned back around, bent down slightly and leaned into her. “There’s a very soft bed inside the room. Do you want to go sleep inside?”

Two seconds of silence later, the girl, who was all over the wall with her cheeks a wine color, slowly opened up a crack in her eyes, “Soft……?”

“Mmhmm.”

“Then yes.”

“……”
