Shu Yan went to say goodbye to Zhang Huaxiu after dinner and Wu Xiuyue came into the room as well.

“Xiuxiu, you should help convince Shu Yan to open up a shop again.”

Zhang Huaxiu looked at Wu Xiuyue, baffled, “Shu Yan’s company is doing fine. Why would she want to open up a shop again?”

Wu Xiuyue looked over at Shu Yan, “I thought you said it isn’t doing well?”

Shu Yan was speechless. She said it did okay; she didn’t say it wasn’t doing well. Could she not tell that she was being humble?

Zhang Huaxiu felt embarrassed and wanted to get up and see Shu Yan out after they’ve chatted a little more but Shu Yan stopped her from getting up.

“Aiya, then you might as well open up a shop and make money that way. I think you should keep running your clothing shop. You can totally look for a new location and open one up. That way that shop can bring in money on top of what you get from Xiuxiu. We are talking about at least 30,000 ~ 40,000 yuan a month! While it sounds good to have your own company but what is the point if you aren’t making any money, am I right?” said Wu Xiuyue as though she was very concerned.

It seemed that Zhang Huaxiu did not share with Wu Xiuyue their income at their shop. Ever since they had swapped to high-end women’s clothing and, after a few promotional activities, they had already gained a fixed set of customers. The shop was doing quite well between the fixed set of customers along with new customers. They brought in around 100,000 yuan a month and Shu Yan’s cut was around 30,000 yuan after deducting costs and other expenses.

“What’s important is that both the adult and child are healthy. No need to overthink it. Rest up in your first month. I didn’t have that opportunity after I gave birth to my first one. That was awful. I was able to make up for some of it after my second child. But that was in the countryside. For sure it was nothing like in the city.” The original owner’s body had a lot of issues from child birth. Shu Yan had gotten a lot of herbs from a traditional herbalist to improve her condition.

Shu Yan sat next to Zhang Huaxiu with the baby in her arms and taught her some tips on taking care of the baby. Most of them what she had heard of before in her own world. Zhang Huaxiu didn’t think much of it and asked her a lot of questions.

“How do I help the baby burp?”

Shu Yan didn’t think too much but gave Chen Fei a call. The phone was picked up quickly and a somewhat emotional voice told her, “Xiuxiu had given birth. Our little princess came at 7 PM last night, 7 ½ lbs. It was very hectic at the time and we finally get around to giving you a call this morning.”

“I thought her expected due date was November. How come she’s early by so much?” It seemed Zhang Huaxiu had given birth some 20 days early. Shu Yan wasn’t sure if that would be considered a premmie.

“Xiuxiu had always been healthy. Perhaps she had been too busy lately which prompted the baby to come early. The doctor said we have already past 37 weeks and it will not be considered a premature birth so we didn’t try to wait,” said Chen Fei, elated.
