 Chapter 113 -  Why Don't You Go Take A Shower (3)     

This was the first time Jiang MingYuan had donned kitchen gloves; it was a brand-new experience to him. Taros were easier to clean than lettuce so it didn’t take him long to finish. 

The taros, even after they were scrubbed clean were still dark in color and didn’t look very pretty. Jiang MingYuan handed them over to Cheng Huan and asked how they would be prepared.

“Stew them with the spareribs,” said Cheng Huan as she pulled out a pressure cooker, added water inside of it, tossed the taros in, and put the cover on. 

“That’s it?” Jiang MingYuan felt that something wasn’t quite right about it. 

Cheng Huan gave him a look but didn’t say anything. Only after the pressure cooker was done when she told him, “That’s just for removing the skin.”

After some cooking, the skin and the meat of the taros were separated and made it particularly easy to peel. Jiang MingYuan took the bowl of taros back from Cheng Huan and continued to help out.

“That does make it easier.” He was peeling the taros and she was washing out the pressure cooker. The two were very close to each other inside the not-so-big kitchen but it didn’t feel awkward at all. 

As such, Jiang MingYuan had contributed to the preparation of dinner. After everything was laid out on top of the dinner table, he took XingXing to go have his hands washed again. 

After the lesson from yesterday, the father and son duo didn’t dare to go too crazy today. They were both still dry when they were done. 

Perhaps because he had contributed to the preparation of it, Jiang MingYuan felt that dinner was particularly tasty today. He had, once again, picked up the dish-washing duty after dinner. 

The news was playing on TV and Cheng Huan and XingXing were watching it together. The little kiddo basically couldn’t understand anything at all and had questions about pretty much everything. 

Jiang MingYuan dried his hands, walked out of the kitchen, watching the two of them from one side, felt reluctant to leave. 

He didn’t spend too much time on mulling before he decided to listen to his hard. He took a few steps forward and sat down on the couch. Feeling the side next to her had sank, Cheng Huan turned and gave him a look. She didn’t say anything but turned her attention back to the TV. When XingXing asked more question, there was one more person to field them. 

By the time news was over, it was XingXing’s bedtime. Cheng Huan has XingXing waited outside of the bathroom as she went to look for change of clothes for him. 

When she walked out with his clothes, Jiang MingYuan was standing by the door. He reached his hand out to her and said, “Let me.”

Cheng Huan didn’t move.

“You go and rest. I’ll help XingXing bathe.” Jiang MingYuan smiled at her and said, “I can’t be the father who only plays with him.”

Hearing that, Cheng Huan relaxed a little but she was still dubious. “Do you know how?”

Jiang MingYuan rubbed his nose and said he had never done it before. “There’s a first time for everything.”

“Alright.” What he said made sense. Cheng Huan handed over to him what was in her hands and said, “Call me if you need help.”

“Don’t worry,” said Jiang MingYuan as he walked inside of the bathroom with XingXing. 

Before he went inside the bathroom, Jiang MingYuan didn’t think that bathing a child could be too difficult. Once he had gotten started, he realized how wrong he was. 

Cheng Huan’s place wasn’t big and she only has shower in her bathroom. This was XingXing’s first time having his daddy bathe him. He felt a bit awkward at first and kept moving around. Once he had gotten used to it, however, he started messing around. 

With his head covered in bubbles, he shook his head back and forth under the shower head. Water and bubbles flew all over the place. Jiang MingYuan wasn’t able to block it fast enough and got half of himself wet. 

The little kiddo, after what he did, just giggled. Jiang MingYuan felt both angry and helpless. Putting on a stern face, he told him to stand still. 

XingXing had no fear for him whatsoever and slide left and right like an eel. Jiang MingYuan had no heart to be rough to him and he was drenched before the shower was even over. 

Jiang MingYuan was exhausted from the one shower. He opened the bathroom door and walked out after he had dried XingXing and helped him put his clothes on. 

Cheng Huan was standing outside of the bathroom and was stunned when she saw Jiang MingYuan. 

The man was tall and large framed. He had broad shoulders and long legs. He wore suits even when he wasn’t at work. 

He had taken off his suit before he went inside of the bathroom and only had on a thin shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Now it was completely drenched and stuck to his skin. The white shirt, when wet, was half translucent and didn’t block anything. Under the light, the smooth contour of the man’s muscle could be seen clearly and they radiated a sense of seduction. His hair, too, was wet and dripping. He looked disheveled but also gave him a different feel than usual. 

Looking at him, Cheng Huan felt the temperature on her cheeks rising. She coughed and looked away. Pulling XingXing over, she said to him, “You can catch a cold wearing wet clothes. Why don’t you go and take a shower too?”

I know y’all are here to read about XingXing, but personally I think MC and ML are very cute together too. ^__^ And, for those XingXing fanatics out there, rest assured, he will not be forgotten no matter how close Mommy and Daddy get. ^__^
