“Puuuf.” Cheng Huan was still eating but she busted out laughing again after listening to the conversation between the father and son. She had food in her mouth so a rice went down the wrong pipe when she laughed. Alas, she started coughing nonstop.

Cheng Huan, one hand over her chest, coughed so much that she couldn’t even sit up straight. The father and son quickly put down what were in their hands and started patting her on her back. It took a while before Cheng Huan was able to catch her breath, looked up, and thanked Jiang MingYuan.

Jiang MingYuan removed his hand and pursed his lips a little. “Be careful.”

Cheng Huan looked away and felt a bit embarrassed. She was an adult and shouldn’t have made mistakes like that.

The atmosphere was a little awkward all of a sudden.

It was XingXing’s show at this critical moment. The little kiddo bounced up and down next to Cheng Huan as he asked for his credits, “Mommy! Mommy, me too!”

“And thanks to XingXing too.” Cheng Huan finally looked back over in that direction and rubbed XingXing on his head.

As she had coughed for too long, her eyes were watery, making her look pitiful and innocent. Jiang MingYuan’s throat tightened a little. He took a deep look at her, returned to his own seat, and said nonchalantly, “Focus on your eating. Don’t get distracted.”

“Ooooookay….” Cheng Huan dragged out her tone. She patted her son on his back to send him back to his seat. XingXing looked at her without even blinking. He only went back to his seat after he had made sure that Mommy was alright. He picked out the smallest cupcake in his plate and said, “Have this one, Mommy.”

The cupcake in his hand reminded Cheng Huan of the conversation between XingXing and Jiang MingYuan just a little while ago. Her eyes twitched a little and she accepted the cupcake from XingXing. All of a sudden, an idea crossed her mind and she purposefully held the cupcake out in front of Jiang MingYuan and asked, “Would you like to have it?”

“That’s for Mommy!” XingXing thought his mommy was going to give the cupcake to his daddy and quickly stood on his tiptoes to stop her. He was so anxious that his face had turned red. An idea suddenly crossed his mind and he looked for the worst looking cupcake on his plate and gave it to his daddy. “This one is for Daddy.”

Watching the entire drama unfolded, the man had a resigned look. He casted a glance over to Cheng Huan as though he was looking at an unruly child and said, “Eat your food properly.”

“Oh.” The look for a CEO was still pretty powerful. Cheng Huan dared not make any more fusses and started eating quietly.

The cupcakes from the restaurant were pretty decent. The sweetness was just right and wasn’t too greasy. Even so, XingXing still wasn’t able to eat his entire plate.

He was so confident in himself at the beginning and was sad that he had to give one to his daddy and therefore had one less for himself. Yet this line of thinking was completely gone after he had three of the cupcakes.

The three cupcakes were enough to fill him and the icing seemed to be stuck in his throat. XingXing finished the last bite in his hand and looked at the remaining food in his plate hatefully, not wanting to touch any more of it.

Nevertheless, he was a child who kept to his words. Remembering what he had promised his mommy, XingXing sighed and reluctantly picked up another cupcake and took a small bite out of it.

The two adults didn’t miss any of that. Jiang MingYuan felt bad for the child and, seeing that he was really stuffed, took the remaining food.

XingXing did not defend them this time. His eyes widened and looked at his father as though he was looking at an angel. He even handed over the one that he had already taken a bite out of. “You can have this one too, Daddy.”

“I don’t want it,” said Jiang MingYuan with a resentful look.

“Oh, alright.” XingXing was a bit disappointed. He suddenly felt that Daddy wasn’t as shiny as he was just a second ago. He pulled his hand back and, looking at the plate in front of him, said, “You must finish all of them, Daddy.”

XingXing took a total of ten cupcakes. Taking away what he had eaten and given away, there were still four left. These cupcakes weren’t big in sizes and also looked very pretty. They were great for someone who loved desserts. Unfortunately, Jiang MingYuan did not like dessert and he was already full. They were more of a torture to him.

What choice did he have? XingXing was his son, after all.

With a nonchalantly look, the man started eating the cupcakes bit by bit. His movements were elegant and were neither rushed nor slow. He also didn’t let the icing stuck on his lip like most people would. Sitting across from him and watching him ate expressionlessly, Cheng Huan suddenly felt pitiful for him.

That idea made Cheng Huan felt silly. How’d he be pitiful.

Oddly enough, not only was she not able to get rid of that silly idea, but it grew stronger and stronger as time went on. When she saw that Jiang MingYuan had finished the third cupcake, she finally reached out and took the last one.

She acted first and, right when her hand touched the wrapper, Jiang MingYuan had also reached out for it. Their hands touched each other’s and there seemed to have been an electrifying feeling between the two of them. Both hands shuddered and Cheng Huan took the opportunity to take away the cake and smiled at him. “I will have the last one.”
