XingXing wanted to go work on his castle and he wasn’t interested in having pictures taken. Seeing that Jiang MingYuan had pulled out the camera, he tugged on his pants and whined. “I don’t want to go have pictures taken. Can we go work on the castle, Daddy?”
“But Mommy wanted to have pictures taken.” Jiang MingYuan lowered his head and smiled at XingXing. “And she will be very said if we don’t go.”
Was that true?
XingXing looked at Cheng Huan with uncertainty and panicked when he saw the disappointment on her look. He quickly let go of daddy’s pants and ran over to mommy. He tugged gently at her skirt to have her bend down before he wrapped his arms around her neck and gave her a kiss on her cheek. “Don’t be said, Mommy. We will go take pictures. The castle can wait.”
Such high potential to become a warm man.
Cheng Huan could no longer maintain that sad look that she had put on. She giggled and gave XingXing a couple of kisses before she lifted her hand and rubbed his head until his hair resembled a bird’s nest. Then, she finally stood up with XingXing’s hand in hers and said to Jiang MingYuan, “Let’s go.”
“Okay.” Jiang MingYuan smiled and followed. There was doting in his eyes that he didn’t even realize. He quickly walked over to Cheng Huan and suggested, “I know of a good location. Let’s head over there for our pictures.”
Cheng Huan didn’t object to that. Jiang MingYuan seemed to have done some homework on today’s itinerary.
The location that Jiang MingYuan mentioned was on the other side of the island. He made a call and a car came to pick them up within five minutes.
This car matched Jiang MingYuan’s style very well. It was the low-key and luxurious type. They got inside of the car and the chauffeur closed the doors for them attentively. He didn’t ask where they were heading but just started driving.
It couldn’t be more obvious. Cheng Huan gave Jiang MingYuan a resigned look and asked, “This is your car?”
Jiang MingYuan nodded.
“Then why did you rent the electric car earlier?” She was baffled.
The man did not respond to her right away. Looking away, his cold and handsome face reflected on the car window. After a while, Cheng Huan heard his answer. “You two looked very interested in it.”
The chauffeur waited outside and was just about to loop around and pick them up when Cheng Huan and XingXing both expressed interest in the electric car so he changed the plan.
Cheng Huan nodded in a thoughtful way. Staring out the right side of the window, she said, “It is interesting and more comfortable than a car. Should we do that again later?”
“It’s unsafe.” Jiang MingYuan’s mouth formed into a line and he turned and gave Cheng Huan a disapproving look. As though chastising her for being silly.
Any employees of his would shudder under that look if he was in the office. But Cheng Huan was not his employee so she wasn’t intimidated by him.
Not only was she not intimidated, she even suggested with a smile. “It’s not like we are going anywhere special. What’s so unsafe about it? Maybe we can take some driving pictures. I will drive and you take pictures. How’s that? It’s so silly to be standing in every single picture.”
Jiang MingYuan only gave her a look before he looked away. Looking straight ahead of himself, his look cold and his mouth tightened into a straight line. “Do you know how to drive one?”
“I don’t think so,” said Cheng Huan very matter-of-factly. “But it doesn’t look all that hard. Can’t be that difficult to learn.”
“Besides, you will be there when push comes to shove, no?”
Perhaps she was imagining it, but she felt that Jiang MingYuan had scooted a bit further from her after she had said that. When she was still trying to figure out why he did what he did, he compromised with difficult, “We will see.”
Having said that, he turned back around and seemingly cold and reluctant to engage anymore.
