Jiang MingYuan did not respond to her question and there was silence from his end of the phone. The silence made Gu MingLi panicked more. She hung up quickly and couldn’t even control the look on herself. She took a few breathes before she was able to calm herself.
“That’s impossible. I am his mother, not an outsider…” She cheered herself on as she called Li KangYi back. Still in her haughty tone as usual, she said, “MingYuan said your performance is lacking and you know how important that is to him. I’ll pay you instead.

Cheng Huan had no idea what happened over on Jiang MingYuan’s side. She continued to follow her routine in taking the kid to school, heading into her shop, grocery shop, pick up XingXing after school, prepare dinner, and get ready for bed. Her life couldn’t be any more routine.
She picked up XingXing like normal today only to notice that XingXing seemed a little dispirited and wasn’t as lively today as he normally was.
“What’s the matter, baby? Why the long face?” She squatted down, trying to cheer XingXing up.
“Mom.” XingXing scooted over closer to her and show her his finger pitifully. “My hand is bleeding.”
“What happened? Let me see!” Cheng Huan was nervous when she heard that he was bleeding. She thought he might have gotten into a fight with another child. When she took a closer look, she saw that the wound was very small.
“Okay, Mommy will blow at it for you. Baby won’t be hurting anymore.” Seeing the size of the wound, Cheng Huan was no longer worried about it. She blew at her child’s hand and, sure enough, the little kid was smiling again.
After she had put XingXing to bed that night, she mentioned that to Jiang MingYuan during their phone conversation.
Ever since he had brought up about having Cheng Huan move to a different place, he had been chatting with her nightly. Their subjects were not limited to only about the move but sometimes extended into other areas as well. Jiang MingYuan was a good listener. He was quiet but not cold. In the past, Jiang MingYuan usually only listened without commenting when Cheng Huan talked about XingXing. This time was different.
As soon as she mentioned that, he called her within two seconds.

Jiang MingYuan came quickly and arrived in 10 or so minutes.
Cheng Huan let him in in her cotton sleepwear and gave him a glass of warm water.
“What’s the matter?” Now he had made her nervous.
“My mom found out about XingXing and you. I think she sent someone to take his DNA sample.”
“Haven’t you done that already?”
“She didn’t know about it.” Jiang MingYuan paused a little before he carried on. “She found out that I have attended the parent-child day from someone else a little while back and started getting suspicious.”
Jiang MingYuan didn’t look too happy when he mentioned his mother and Cheng Huan felt that this was a sticky situation as well. She recalled from the novel that the male lead’s mother was a difficult person to deal with. She only wanted her grandchild and looked down upon the mother of her grandson. If it wasn’t for the interference of the male lead, she would have sent the original owner away long time ago in the novel.
Now that she had found out about XingXing and herself, would she wanted to take XingXing away and gave her money to get rid of her too?
Cheng Huan thought about it and felt troubled by it. She gave Jiang MingYuan a look and asked him his thoughts.
Jiang MingYuan frowned. “Why don’t you move to a different place? Security is really lacking here. I worry that my mother might take extreme measures.”
“But XingXing still has to go to school?” Moving wouldn’t be the solution. Her routine was fixed.
