Jiang MingYuan drove himself today. After he walked out of the elevator and into his own car, he turned on GPS and set the location to the mansion.
It was already very late in the night and, with the exception of securities, the others had already gone to bed. Jiang MingYuan had no intention to wake up anyone else, so he took a quick shower and laid down in the bed that he hadn’t been in for over six months. He couldn't help but texted “goodnight” to the other person before he went to bed.
Gu MingLi only found out that her son was back the next morning.
She was old and didn’t sleep very well. She woke up at 6 AM every morning. To remain healthy, she would do a reasonable amount of workout every day. She had changed into her workout gear and walked upstairs before she noticed that someone was already in the workout room.
“MingYung?” Gu MingLi was a bit surprised, “How come you are home?”
Jiang MingYuan had already been working out for a while now and was sweaty all over. He wiped his face with a towel and turned toward his mother. “There is something I need to talk to you about.”
“What is it?” Gu MingLi felt a tightness in her chest. She had a bad feeling.
“Let me go take a quick shower. Then we can talk.”
“Okay, you go.”
The door to the exercise room closed behind her and Gu MingLi was no longer in the mood to work out. He had just said those nasty things to her yesterday and, judging from his look, he wasn’t exactly here to apologize. So she gathered whatever it was that he wanted to talk about must not be good.
What could it be? Was it the time that she had given money to Jiang MingKai or had he discovered her relationship with Jiang XuDong? The more she thought about it, the more frantic she became. She forced herself to calm down before she turned around and walked out of the exercise room. She changed and waited for Jiang MingYuan downstairs.
By the time Jiang MingYuan walked downstairs after his shower, he saw that his mother was already sitting in the dining room. There were two slices of bread in front of her and she was putting strawberry jam on one right now. Hearing him approaching, she looked up and said to the man on the stairs, “Come over for breakfast.”
The servant had already placed the food in the spot across from her. Also toasts, jam, and a glass a milk. Jiang MingYuan walked over, sat down casually, and asked point blank, “I heard that you have hired private investigator to look into my child.
“I hope that you will stop and leave the two of them alone,” he said.
Gu MingLi’s hands paused briefly in midair. A second later, she said casually, “What are you talking about?”
“You know what I am talking about. After all, you have transferred a lump sum to someone just yesterday.”
Gu MingLi’s hands stopped. Putting down her butter knife, she stared at the man sitting across from her and said, “You had someone looked into me?”
“Just like you had looked into my child.”
“He is your son and my grandson. Why can’t I look into him?” Gu MingLi felt that she had been wronged. “If you knew this already, why are you keeping it from me? Do you still remember that I am your mother?”

“If you didn’t keep it from me purposefully, why would I need to hire someone to look into it?”
Gu MingLi felt that her actions were very justifiable. Feeling righteous about her actions, she sat up straight in her chair. Biting into her toast that was now covered in jam, she casually finished it before she said to him, “Since you know for sure that’s your son, I will call off the investigation. You should find a time and bring him home. I’ll take care of him for you. He is, after all, a Jiang. We can’t have him grow up with the undesirables.”
