Villainess FSC Raising Her Bun - CH 217

Title: The Villainess Female Supporting Character Raising Her Bun
Translator: Fringe Capybara
Chapter 217 - A lifetime is a long time but at least she is willing to give it a try now. (3)

By the time Cheng Huan had gone upstairs, Jiang MingYuan was still sitting on the couch with his eyes closed and his brows furrowed deeply. He looked to be in great discomfort. The soup that Qi Shan had made for him to help alleviate his intoxication was still sitting there, untouched.

She walked over and touched the side of the bowl to check its temperature. It was not hot and ready to be drank. Cheng Huan walked over to Jiang MingYuan and pushed him a little with her hand. “Jiang MingYuan?”

No reaction from the man. He finally struggled to open his eyes after a little while and look at her squarely.

“Your assistant said that you were drunk and had me come to check on you.” She leaned in closer to him. “Here, drink this soup.”

Jiang MingYuan did not react to what she had said but continued looking at her squarely. Even the speed of his blinking was slower than normal. Cheng Huan waited for a while before she repeated herself again. She then bent down and brought the bowl of soup over.

An arm reached around from behind her and wrapped around her waist before she could touch the bowl and pulled her backward.

With an “aye”, Cheng Huan was pulled into his arm. She tried to struggle free after she realized what had happened, but the arm arm wrapped around tight and she wasn’t able to struggle free.

She tried a couple of times to pry his arm loose and finally smacked him on his shoulder. “Jiang MingYuan, that is not very nice of you.”

“Mmhmm,” said the man softly but had no signs of letting her go. He reached over and rested his chin on her shoulder. Letting out a slight sigh, he said, “Don’t move.”

He had a lot to drink and his breath smelled like alcohol. It didn’t smell good at all, and it made Cheng Huan frown. She tried even harder to pry away his arm and the only outcome after a long while was the man wrapping his other arm around her as well.

“Jiang MingYuan!” Cheng Huan scolded him in a low voice. “Are you just pretending to be drunk?”

The man grunted again but maintained in the same position.

She had tried hard earlier but failed to struggle free so she had given up trying. Her shoulder felt comfortable from the weight so she started pushing his head back. The man leaned right back in the next second.

Cheng Huan was nervous, “Hey! What are you trying to do?”

She had already expected the worst-case scenario and was contemplating what she should do should the man tried to force himself on her. Nevertheless, the man behind her did not respond after that nor did he try to do anything else. He maintained in the same position for a long, long time before he whispered into her ear, “I want to get married.”

Cheng Huan, “… …”

She could no longer tell whether this man was really drunk or just faking it. She would think that if he wasn’t really drunk, he would for sure take advantage of the current situation, but if he really was drink… was this what he was like when he was drunk?

Feeling dubious, Cheng Huan decided to test him. She pulled her head back and, looking at his side profile, asked, “Why do you want to get married?”

As soon as she had said that, she noticed a hint of joy in her voice.

She cleared her throat as though trying to cover that up and turned away. She felt that all of her rejections in the past were weakened by this. The drunk one, nevertheless, did not notice that. He frowned, tried to figure that out amidst his throbbing headache, then said, “If we are married, we can spend the rest of our lives together.”

“No.” He rebutted himself after he had finished saying that. He could see an elegant silhouette in his head. His frown deepened and his arms tightened more around Cheng Huan. His breathing became heavier and he said through gritted teeth. “Getting married isn’t enough.”

There was almost a hint of pain in his voice.

Cheng Huan didn’t know who he had thought about when he said that. She felt a heavy feeling in her chest. She opened up her mouth and, finally, she didn’t make out a word but turned her head and became silent.

She didn’t say anything and neither did Jiang MingYuan. He just maintained the way he was with her in his arms. Cheng Huan sat there for a long time. So long that her legs were beginning to feel numb. She thought perhaps the man had already fallen asleep and tried to struggling a little. That was when she found out he wasn’t asleep.

“Don’t move.” Jiang MingYuan’s arms tightened a little and he breathed onto her neck when he talked.

“Be with me, hmm?” Cheng Huan heard he said. His face got closer to hers and the tip of his nose touched her chin. His lips were where her neck was and his voice was seductive. “For the rest of our lives, yeah?”

Hearing his words, Cheng Huan couldn’t bring herself to turn him down. She remained silent for a little while and said yes.

The rest of their lives was a long time. She couldn’t predict what would happen in the future but, at least for the time being, she was willing to give it a try.
