“Mom, you have been sleeping for a long time. Daddy and I had lunch already!” XingXing ran up to her and handed her the paper box in his hand. “Are you hungry, Mommy? Have some cake.”

Cheng Huan had just woken up and was not hungry yet. That and she was never a fan of cake so she turned it down. “Mommy doesn’t need any of that. XingXing can save them for himself.”

The little kid felt a bit painful when he offered it up. He had to whine for a long time before Daddy replaced his cake from earlier. He happily took it back after his mommy had declined it. Patting himself on his chest, he said, “What would you like to eat, Mommy? I will buy it for you.”

Having said that, he took a look at the man next to him and said, instead, “Daddy will buy it for you.”

“Okay, you go play.” Jiang MingYuan rubbed the child on his head and sent him away. “Daddy and Mommy need to talk.”

Cheng Huan blushed a little and she heard XingXing asking, “What is it that you need to talk about?”

Jiang MingYuan looked at Cheng Huan and said to the little kiddo, “Not something that a child should be concerned about.”

“Why not?”

XingXing look from his dad to his mom back forth and back and forth and he finally nodded reluctantly and sighed like someone who had seen too much. “Alright, you adults always have so much to talk about.”

Then he walked away on his little stubby legs.

Now that the third wheel was gone, the invasiveness from Jiang MingYuan had became stronger. He walked over slowly, backing Cheng Huan into a corner before he lowered his head and said into her ears, “I thought you have regretted already.”

“No, I didn’t say that.” Cheng Huan was shy earlier but, now that she noticed that the man in front of her was as uncomfortable as her, she felt more courageous.

She tried to get closer to him. Then she put her arms around him, rested her head on his chest and said softly, “I won’t regret about it.”

With her arms around his waist and smelling a sweet fragrance coming from her, Jiang MingYuan took a breath and placed his arms behind her back. He felt very contented.

He lowered his head some and planted his lips on Cheng Huan’s forehead, testing the water. Seeing that she did not object to that, he became braver. His lips moved down from between her brows, over her nose bridge, and he nibbled the tip of her nose gently. He pulled his head back a little and, finally, he was able to capture the red and plumb lips that he had been longing for.

Their lips touched each other’s and, all of a sudden, there was no more movements. The two of them breathed in each other’s scent and even the air seemed to be very quiet.

After a long while, Jiang MingYuan finally moved his lips a little. He parted his lips and Cheng Huan, as though sensing his intention, also parted hers at the same time. The tip of their tongues reached out and the tried to touch each other’s. Once they became more familiar with it, the entanglement between the two became more intense.

After all, both of them were very inexperienced so there had been some bumping around during their kiss. Either they were being too forceful and hit the other person’s teeth or they’d inadvertently bit their tongues. As much as the process was a bit bumpy, they had no intention of pulling themselves away from each other.

There were noises coming from the entrance but neither one of the two of them noticed. A few seconds later, they heard a crisp, child’s voice. “Daddy, Mommy, what you are doing?”

XingXing stared at them with his toy plane in his hand. His eyes were that of a pure child untouched by the material world.

Both of the two in a hug paused when they heard the voice. Cheng Huan reached out, pushed Jiang MingYuan a little, and struggled free from his arms. She wiped her lips with the back of her hand while hiding behind Jiang MingYuan and it was the first time she felt she couldn’t face her son.
