Chapter 279 - Extra - XingXing's Tidbits (2)

Being spanked by his dad, Jiang XingChen’s bottom was smarting. But he felt happy. If his daddy was so upset over that, for sure the two of them wouldn’t be getting a divorce?

Sure enough, his daddy had been going home on time for the days that followed. Jiang XingChen felt somewhat relieved when his buddy told him that he was being too overly optimistic.

“There are many reasons why adults don’t want to get a divorce. My mom said she didn’t want to get a divorce because they will have to divide up their assets and she will have to give my dad a lot of money,” said his buddy with his chin held up high. “My mom now gives my dad an allowance of 10,000 yuan a month. That’s less than what she gives me.”

“Is that so…” Jiang XingChen’s eyes were opened but he ten rebutted. “But my dad has money. He didn’t need a monthly allowance.”

“What about your mom?”

“My mom has money too.” His mother had been talking about celebrating the opening of the 100th restaurant in her chain. His mother was the one who gave him more spending money.

“Well, that’s tough.” His buddy scratched his head and got dust off his head. When Jiang XingChen saw that, he scooted away from him with a resentful look.

“Well, regardless, it’s a good thing that they are not getting a divorce. My dad said he will be taking me to visit South Pole over the winter break.”

“That sounds awesome.” His buddy’s father only had allowance of 10,000 yuan every month and would occasionally need to bum money from his son. His buddy was very jealous when he heard what Jiang XingChen had said. In an effort to not sound too far behind from Jiang XingChen, the buddy started to brag, “My mom said she will buy me the newest gaming console this week.”

“Oh, my mom bought me that too. And she even played with me.”

Once again losing when comparing their folks, his buddy was so sad that he stopped talking to Jiang XingChen while holding onto the basketball. Jiang XingChen let him go. He had other friends anyway.

When Jiang XingChen started 6th grade, his buddy’s parents divorced each other. His mother found herself a younger and better-looking stepfather and his father married another rich woman. His buddy was very said and, as such, dragged Jiang XingChen with him to drink.

That was the first time Jiang XingChen had alcohol and he was drunk after half a bottle. He cried after he went home and asked his mother to not have a divorce while having his arms around her legs.

And he received another beating from his dad.

In junior high, students started engaging in romantic relationships. Jiang XingChen, too, was curious.

He, too, wanted to know what it was look to be in a relation. As there was an overwhelming number of applicants, Jiang XingChen decided to held a selection activity. That didn’t end very well as the last two schoolmates remaining refused to admit defeating and ending up in a fight. Their class teacher was alerted in the end.

The class teacher, when they arrived in the classroom, was so angry that their faces were blue in color. They dragged the three of them int the office and contacted their parents.

As for contacting his parents, Jiang XingChen wasn’t worried at all. The reason being that his father had left on a business trip two days ago and his mother never had the heart to touch him.

After the call was made, sure enough, it was his mother who came. She walked briskly and was still in her professional outfit. That gave her an authoritative look.

All three of the parents knew each other and the discussion was very civil. The outcome of the discussion was to have the three of them each write an essay stating what they had done wrong. The two students who were involved in the fight must write 1,000 characters each and Jiang XingChen, 3,000 characters, as he was the one who organized the event.

They’ve spent so much time in the office that school was already out by the time they were done. Jiang XingChen was brought home by his tender mother and, as soon as they stepped foot in the house, was beaten by his mother for the very first time in his life.

Truth was, Jiang XingChen felt that his mother would not have been able to subdue him should he tried but, he was a boy. Of course he needed to be nice to the only girl at home.

His mother was quite skillful at dishing out beatings. The entire area from his bottom to his thighs smarted. Not only that, she even turned the 3,000-character requirement into 5,000 characters and that he must promise her not to be in a relationship until after he turned 18. And definitely not more girlfriend-selection activities.

The essay took Jiang XingChen two days to write and he felt that his hand was about to fall of when he was done with it. Writing it wasn’t the end of it either; he needed to read it out loud during the flag-raising ritual on Monday.

Truth was, Jiang XingChen had good friends since he was very little and had, in many occasions, recited publicly. But reading out the reflection of his own bad behaviors was the first time. He found it quite embarrassing and almost wasn’t able to read it out loud. Then again, he figured that he had the top grades in the entire school so he’d just think of it as a demonstration to the others on how to write a self-reflection.

Sure enough, his self-reflection report on Monday was spectacular and more people now knew of Jiang XingChen and even more girls wanted to be his girlfriend.

Jiang XingChen had, however, already promised his mother that he would not be in a relationship. So how could he go back on his words? As such, he declined all of the girls who wanted to be his girlfriend seriously.

Nobody knew whether his way of declining them was problematic. Not only did the students that he had declined not dislike him, they even formed a fan club for him to “defend his purity”.

Jiang XingChen had made an effort to protest about this fan club of his but he was scared out of the room and never dared to return again.
