Having said that, Dong Mingming gave Gu Xi a serious look and patted her on her shoulder. “Gu Xi, I am going to go in heavy on you. My happiness for the rest of the school term relies on you. Do your best, mmm’kay?”

With the two’s explanation, Gu Xi more or less figured out how the wager worked and, at the same time, find the format interesting.

“So the one who won can receive twice the amount of reference materials?” Gu Xi raised her brows and asked.

“Of course not. This is study guides we are talking about! Of course they would go to the losers,” Dong Mingming said.

Having said that, Dong Mingming turned toward the Art Committee girl and asked, “How’s the pay out right now?”

“Right now, it’s the same for both Sheng Xiuyan and Gu Nian. Both of them being 2.x to 1.” Meaning, the loser who bet a Top Examples would receive one 5.3and half a Top Example.

“Oh right.” Something occurring to the Art Committee girl, “Lin Yejia is the one currently wagering the highest at 3 x 5.3 and one Complete Solutions.”

“Oh boy. What a roller!** I am guessing she’s wagering on God Xiu, being his fangirl and all.”

“Mmhmm.”

“Alright, let me raise my wager then. I’ll bet on Gu Xi. 5 x 5.3 and… and a Top Students.”

“You are even more of a roller!” said the Art Committee girl. She then turned to Gu Xi and asked, “Are you wagering, Gu Xi?”

Gu Xi thought about it some and asked, “Can I wager next semester’s reference books as well?”

“Sure sure.”

Gu Xi nodded and said, “Okay, I’m in then. I’ll bet 6x this semester’s 5.3 plus 6x next semester’s.”

Art Committee girl: “!”

Dong Mingming, “! ! !”

She thought she was a high roller already, but Gu Xi was even higher.

Dong Mingming was filled with confidence all of a sudden.

Except, the next words coming out of Gu Xi was, “I’m placing my bet on Sheng Xiuyan.”
