Title: The Female Supporting Character Ran Off With The Bun
Translator: Fringe Capybara
Chapter 108 -  "I have the same nightmare almost every night." (2)

The large room was very quiet. Only the sound of the clock could be heard.

Lu JingYan said simply, “It was a car accident.”

He tried his best not to bring back any memories or emotions but, unfortunately, every time he brought it up, the realistic scenes invaded his brain and played the frames in his head one by one as though he was watching a movie.

As though all tragic that happened in a symbolic rainy night. After the sharp screech of a car braking, the girl’s soft body flew in the air in a parabolic trajectory before falling onto the ground.

His eyes widened from panic. Without any hesitation, he ran out of the door trying to save her but the luxurious car that had caused the accident backed up mechanically, crushed, backup, crushed, all the way until a body that was breathtakingly beautiful was reduced to nothing but a pile of bones and flesh.

All these happened clearly in front of his eyes. Lu JingYan had no idea how much hate there was in the driver’s mind; he only knew that his heart ached so much that he could die.

That was the first time in his life that he had cried out at the top of his lung but the owner of the car acted as though he heard nothing. He continued to run over the fragile body like he had lost his mind. Lu JingYan’s cry was drowned by the endless rain.

When he finally ran over to where it had all happened, it was already too late.

The girl was lying in a pool of her own blood. The lower half of her body unrecognizable. Her face a terrifying pale and her eyes closed. Rolling on the ground was the birthday gift that she had yet given out that has his name on it.

As expected, Chen Jin noticed that Lu JingYan’s look has changed. He was so pale that he was almost translucent.

Chen Jin’s brows furrowed but he must risk paining Lu JingYan more and asked, “Was that something that you have experienced? Or, should I say, witnessed?”

Chen Jin’s preliminary diagnosis was that Lu JingYan suffered from PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder.

Patients of PTSD had usually experienced a life-threatening situation or witnessed the death of another… and the event would continue to appear in front of the patients in the form of dreams, finally causing effects to both their physical and mental health.

Lu JingYan shook his head, “No.”

Chen Jin was slight stunned. He asked again, “What you have dreamed about was not something that you have experienced? Not something that you have witnessed, not even in a movie or something similar?”

“No.” Lu JingYan thought about it for a little bit and his eyes darkened. “Yet I somehow felt that I have, indeed, experienced it. The scenes were very real to me.”

Chen Jin was lost in thought.

It was not unusual that PTSD patients were unable to distinguish dreams from reality… but… why wasn’t that something that he had experienced.

“Have you suffered memory loss when you were a child?”

“No.”

“When did these dreams begin?”

“About six months ago. I met a girl at a banquet one night and the dream started occurring frequently. I could see that she was the girl in the accident.”

Chen Jin was lost in thought.

He had seen many complicated cases in the past and has a healthy respect of the complexity and possibilities of the human brain.

Anything is possible under the sun, Lu JingYan’s situation, nevertheless, was very abrupt with no indications.

Chen Jin pushed his glasses up a little bit solemnly and asked again, “Has that girl ever been involved in a car accident in real life?”

Lu JingYan, his voice hoarse, said, “I don’t know.” His knuckles were a bit white and the clear fluid dripped quietly into his bloodstream.

“I’d say she’s a vital part of resolving your issue,” said Chen Jin. “Maybe we can talk to her and see if that could help improve your condition.”

Lu JingYan went silent and looked solemn.

After a little while, he said, “There is something else.”

“Go ahead.”

Lu JingYan, covering up his lips that were so dry that they had cracked, coughed and said, “About 4.5 years ago, I had intimacy with a girl. I feel that she is the one.”

Lu JingYan had no idea whether that incident has anything to do with his dreams but he subconsciously felt that they were related.
