As such, they asked out loud during lunch, “Manager Tong, why are you studying textbooks from junior and senior high schools? Are you planning to attend Workers, Peasants, and Soldier University?”

Tong Xuelu shook her head. “I do not plan on attending Workers, Peasants, and Soldier University. I just feel that we had spent so much time in school learning and what a waste it is to give up all the knowledge that I had learn in the past after I was out of school?
“As I have said before, opportunities are bestowed upon those who are prepared. What if the day will come when this knowledge will be useful? Do you think someone like me who was well prepared or someone unprepared like you would be more likely to grab that opportunity?”
Meng Qingqing and Wu Lizhu said at the same time, “Manager Tong, of course.”
Tong Xuelu nodded. “As you understand that logic, then you two should also pick up your knowledge when you have free time.”
The opportunity would be arriving at the end of this year. Both Meng Qingqing and Wu LiZhu had graduated senior high school and were eligible to take the college entrance examination.
Xiao Tian graduated junior high school. He could be eligible for that as well if he studied hard. That being said, with the amount of knowledge that he had, that would be a stretch for him.
After their conversation, Meng Qingqing an Wu Lizhu started bringing their textbooks to work.
As everybody focuses their energies on studying, all the more nobody would think about policies at work.
Fang Jingyuan came over during lunch time again.
“Xuelu, my birthday is in two days. I’d like to invite you to join me in celebrating and also would like you to check out my boyfriend for me.”
As she spoke, Fang Jingyuan’s cheeks were red like she had blush on and she looked shy.
Tong Xuelu was more used to Fang Jingyuan talking about scaring men away with her stinky fart. This new side of her was sort of novel. “You just want me to make you yummy food is all. Checking out your boyfriend is secondary.”
Fang Jingyuan smiled so much that her eyes resembled new moons. “You are so smart, Xuelu. I can’t hide anything from you.”
Tong Xuelu thought about it some and said, “Alright. Your birthday happens to land on a Sunday. Why don’t you come over to my place?”
Fang Jingyuan looked at her feeling touched. “Why aren’t you a man, Xuelu? If only you are a man, I would certainly choose you over my current boyfriend!”
Tong Xuelu rolled her eyes.
As soon as Fang Jingyuan had left, the phone rang. Tong Xuelu picked it up and was startled.
“Take a deep breath, Uncle Zong. What did you just say?”
