Fang Wanyuan thought Tong Xuelu was going to ask him something about himself. He didn’t think that it had to do with Tong Zhenzhen.

She almost got pulled down by the torrent herself while saving them. The mother and child were so appreciative that they went to look for a reporter and told them the story.”

She didn’t think about homosexuality when she noticed that Xiang Peng didn’t seem to have a lot of affection toward Fang Wanyuan. She had assumed that some people are just more restrained than others.

But when he saw Fang Wanyuan falling toward him, he looked startled and it was almost like he had seen something disgusting. Which was why he had reflexively pushed her away.

She could see Xiang Peng clearly from where she was standing at the time. She was very certain then that not only did Xiang Peng had no feelings for Fang Jingyuan, he was also a homosexual person with phobia toward women.

As for why he picked Fang Wanyuan, partly it might have been the pressure coming his parents and his surroundings forcing him to marry a woman. And partly might have to do with her.

Tong Xuelu said, “I need to head back. My siblings are still waiting for me back home.”

She had sent Wei Guozhi home after they had dropped Fang Wanyuan off at the hospital. She worried that Shen Wanrong wasn’t able to take care of all the kids by herself.

Watching her turned to leave, Fang Wanyuan suddenly felt an inexplicable anxiousness. He abruptly called out to her, “Tong Xuelu!”

Tong Xuelu turned to look at him, “What is it?”

Looking at her limpid almond eyes, Fang Wanyuan’s heart throbbed. “How, how come you stopped liking me all of a sudden?”

Tong Xuelu’s tightened her lips a bit. “Who would want to waste her time chasing after someone who was not interested in her?”

She turned and left after that.

Fang Wanyuan watched on as the shapely figure pulled away from him. He felt a void inside of him.

He had wanted to ask her had he not treated her the way that he did, and that he regretted about his behaviour, would he still have another chance.

But at the last moment, he wasn’t able to say any of that.
