The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories - Ch 467

Chapter 467 - "We've always taught her to help others." (2)

Tong Xuelu turned when she heard footsteps. “Comrade Feng, there’s something that I wanted to ask you.”

Fang Wanyuan forced himself to look away from her red mole. “Okay, go ahead.”

“When we were having lunch, Xiang Peng mentioned that Tong Zhenzhen had turned into a living female Lei Feng. Do you know anything about that?”

Fang Wanyuan thought Tong Xuelu was going to ask him something about himself. He didn’t think that it had to do with Tong Zhenzhen.

“Yes, I know about it. It was an article from a couple of days ago. Tong Zhenzhen saved a mother and her son from drowning in the farm. She almost got pulled down by the torrent herself while saving them. The mother and child were so appreciative that they went to look for a reporter and told them the story.”

“……”

Tong Zhenzhen? Sacrificing herself to save someone else?

Why did she find that so unbelievable?

Being from an later era, Tong Xuelu was only too familiar with this method of operandum.

Going from a bad element being sent to the ranch to a living female Lei Feng. Tsk tsk tsk. Tong Zhenzhen was trying to clear her own reputation with public opinion.

Let’s just say even if the saving others from drowning part was real, what normal people would think about going to a reporter?

She would dare say that the whole saving others from drowning to the looking for reporter part were all staged.

That being said, with Tong Zhenzhen being at the ranch, she would not have the ability to arrange for all these events. So who was it that was helping her?

Seeing that Tong Xuelu hadn’t said anything, Fang Wanyuan thought that Tong Xuelu worried that Tong Zhenzhen would give her a hard time after she was freed.

“You don’t need to worry that Tong Zhenzhen would retaliate. I……”

Tong Xuelu shook her head. “I’m not worried. I’m just wondering how she become a living Lei Feng so abruptly. The Xiang family, in particular Xiang Peng, is a bit odd. You best to send someone to look into them.”

Fang Wanyuan looked perplexed. “Whatever do you mean by ‘odd’?”

Tong Xuelu paused for a little bit before she said, “I suspect that he approached Jingyuan purposefully. I also suspect that he possibly dislikes women.”

? ?

Fang Wanyuan was even more perplexed now.

Tong Xuelu educated him, “Have you heard of men who like other men in history? I suspect he’s like that.”

She didn’t think about homosexuality when she noticed that Xiang Peng didn’t seem to have a lot of affection toward Fang Wanyuan. She had assumed that some people are just more restrained than others.

But when he saw Fang Wanyuan falling toward him, he looked startled and it was almost like he had seen something disgusting. Which was why he had reflexively pushed her away.

She could see Xiang Peng clearly from where she was standing at the time. She was very certain then that not only did Xiang Peng had no feelings for Fang Jingyuan, he was also a homosexual person with phobia toward women.

As for why he picked Fang Wanyuan, partly it might have been the pressure coming his parents and his surroundings forcing him to marry a woman. And partly might have to do with her.

Fang Wanyuan, “……”

Tong Xuelu, “You are Jingyuan’s Big Brother. Please do look into this.”

Fang Wanyuan recollected himself and nodded. “Sure, I will look into it.”

Tong Xuelu said, “I need to head back. My siblings are still waiting for me back home.”

She had sent Wei Guozhi home after they had dropped Fang Wanyuan off at the hospital. She worried that Shen Wanrong wasn’t able to take care of all the kids by herself.

Watching her turned to leave, Fang Wanyuan suddenly felt an inexplicable anxiousness. He abruptly called out to her, “Tong Xuelu!”

Tong Xuelu turned to look at him, “What is it?”

Looking at her limpid almond eyes, Fang Wanyuan’s heart throbbed. “How, how come you stopped liking me all of a sudden?”

Tong Xuelu’s tightened her lips a bit. “Who would want to waste her time chasing after someone who was not interested in her?”

She turned and left after that.

Fang Wanyuan watched on as the shapely figure pulled away from him. He felt a void inside of him.

He had wanted to ask her had he not treated her the way that he did, and that he regretted about his behaviour, would he still have another chance.

But at the last moment, he wasn’t able to say any of that.
