Chapter 482 - She had heard nothing about Yan Yongan or Tong Zhenzhen since. (1)
Many witnessed Yan Yongan dashing down from the mountain like a mad man.
“Please! My wife fell down the cliff. Please help me save her! I beg of you!”
Yan Yongan cried so hard that his face was covered in tears and snots and he looked pale as a ghost. He looked like he could have a melt down any minute.
Others worried when they heard that someone had fallen off the cliff.
“Where did she fall? Is she still alive?”
“I think we need to hurry up to head to the police station to file a report.”

Yan Yongan did not take the water bottle that was offered up to him. His hands shook nonstop. “My wife fell from the cliff over there. I have no idea if she’s still alive. I wasn’t able to see her. Wuwuwuw……”
He covered up his face and bawled again.
Those who had visited the cliff in the past knew that there was no chance that his wife could still be alive.
“The cliff was very deep. Most would not survive that fall. I suggest you to hurry up and head to the police station, Comrade. They might have ways to help you save your wife.”
The tallest cliff stood 800 meters above sea level, and it was unchartered forest under it. Even if they had wanted to help him, they would not have the means to.
Yan Yongan dropped onto his knees as those he had lost all energy. He was finally brought to the police station with the help of three men.

The police took the matter very seriously. They immediately sent men to accompany Yan Yongan back to the cliff.

It would take more than a couple of days just to get down to the bottom of the cliff. And nobody knew if there were wild beasts inside the thick forest. In short, it was unlikely that they would be able to locate Du Mei’s body.
Everybody expressed their compassion toward Yan Yongan.
Yan Yongan refused to give him. He cried and pleaded with the police to help him. He even got down on his knees and kowtowed to them.
Everybody’s eyes reddened when they saw how much he loved his wife.
While feeling bad for Du Mei, they also felt that she was very lucky to have a husband like hime.
Yan Yongan finally passed out from his crying and was taken back to his house by the police.
Yan Yongan fell ill after that and was emaciated in just a few days.
Had it not been his parents crying and begging him to stay strong and that he still have two kids, he would most likely follow in his wife’s footsteps.
The touching love story was printed on newspaper again and it touched everyone.
There were even unwedded maidens coming to the Yan’s house stating that they would like to marry him and take care of him and his children for his late wife.
Nevertheless, Yan Yongan turned them all down.
He said that he could only think about his wife right now. If he was to marry again in the future, it would be for the sake of having someone to care for his children, not for himself.
He would not be able to give the girls his heart and, as such, he would not want to do that to them.
Tong Zhenzhen finally learned about Du Mei’s accident after a few days. After a short shock, she tipped her head backward and laughed maniacally.
Heaven was certainly on her side!
She had just wished for Du Mei’s death and now it had come true!
Tong Zhenzhen paced back and forth happily in her room and she was beaming.
That was excellent. Du Mei was dead and there was nothing standing between herself and Yan Yongan now!
For the last month or so, she had been so frustrated that she could neither eat nor sleep well. Now that the burden had been lifted. She felt hungry all of a sudden.
She pulled out money and ticket from the drawer, dashed out of her house, and headed toward East Wind Restaurant.
She, however, stopped herself half way there and turned back around.
She had wanted to go meet Tong Xuelu at East Wind Restaurant and also hint to her about Wen Rugui dying at a young age in her previous life.
But the cool wind calmed her down. She would be giving too much away and Yan Yongan would grumble at her should he find out later on.
Du Mei was already dead. All she needed to do was to lay low and wait for Yan Yongan to marry her.
As for Tong Xuelu, she didn’t need to do anything to her. Wen Rugui’s mother would push him to his end in the future.
Besides, once she had become Yan Yongan’s wife, there was plenty that she could do to Tong Xuelu.
As such, Tong Zhenzhen finally went back home. However, as the curse she had put on Du Mei had come true, she started to curse Tong Xuelu instead.
