Tong Zhenzhen wanted Minster Yan to divorce his wife as soon as possible. Nevertheless, she ran into hiccups left and right.

Du Mei, Minister Yan wife had fallen ill all of a sudden.

She went from starting out with vomiting and diarrhea to occasionally losing consciousness and falling. She lost a lot of weight drastically. She had gone to the hospital multiple times but the doctors had yet to figure out what was wrong with her.

Du Mei worked at the Women’s Federation before she fell ill. After she had fallen ill, she was too sick to go to work.

It would have been alright if it was a few days here and there, but not long term. Finally Du Mei was convinced by her husband to sell her job.

The buyer of her job was none other than Xiao Jiu’s maternal grandfather’s family.

The Gu family originally bought the job for their second daughter-in-law. Low and behold, their second daughter-in-law had conceived, and their older daughter-in-law already had a job. Eventually, the job ended up with Gu Yilan.

Du Mei, with her vomiting and diarrhea, was malnourished. She was so skinny that her cheeks had sunken and her face an unhealthy yellowish hue. She looked awful.

That did not bother Minister Yin one bit. Not only was he taking care of her in person, he also took her to places and went on walks with her.

Du Mei would look better after each trip. As such, Minister Yin would go out with her every chance that he got. They would go hiking, visit the great wall. He would take her wherever she wished to go.

Sometimes when Du Mei was too tired to walk, Minister Yin would even carry her on his back.

Minister Yin had proven with actions his love for his wife.

Everyone was touched by how loyal and faithful Minister Yin was to his wife and Du Mei’s family all commented on how lucky she was to have a husband like him.

Minister Yin’s loyalty to his wife even made it onto the newspaper.

There were Romeo and Juliet and then there were Minister Yin and his wife. All of a sudden, the two were well talked about in Capital City.

Everybody was touched… with the exception of Tong Zhenzhen.

With Du Mei’s illness, the talk of divorce had halted. In fact, Tong Zhenzhen hadn’t even seen Minister Yin for over a month.

She would have thought that he had a changed of heart had he not mailed her some snacks.

Tong Zhenzhen was anxious like ants on a hot pot and she wished for Du Mei to die.

She had only wanted Minister Yin to divorce Du Mei in the past. Nevertheless, ever since Du Mei had fallen ill, she suddenly felt that it would be better if Du Mei was dead.

Getting a divorce would be bad for Minister Yin’s reputation. And, as the mother of the two children, Du Mei would forever be in hers and Minister Yin’s life.

But all those would no longer be an issue if Du Mei was dead.

Minister Yin took his wife on a hiking trip again this day.

The two went further and further off the beaten path and no more visitors could be seen around them.

Du Mei was out of breath. “Children’s daddy, let’s head back. I’m starting to get tired.”

Minister Yin squatted down in front of his wife. “Let me carry you over there. There’s a cliff with an amazing view up ahead. I wish for you to see it.”

Du Mei was very touched. “You are tired. I’ll just walk.”

Minister Yin smiled tenderly. “It’s alright. Just get onto my back. I’m strong.”

Du Mei wanted to cry and she got on her husband’s back. “I feel so lucky.”

Minister Yin’s lips curved upward. “I’m glad you feel that way.”

Having said that, he carried his wife toward the cliff.

Over 30 minutes later, the two reached the highest peak.

Everything looked so small from the cliff. The breeze made one’s mood improve.

Du Mei was just about to turn and talk to her husband when she felt pushed by a strong force.

“OOOOHHHhhhh—”

A loud shriek could be heard resounding against the cliff.
