The Green Tea’s Crushing Victories - Ch 492

Chapter 492- Tong Zhenzhen and Gu Yilan (3)

She had, however, calmed down when she was half way there.

Given what she knew about Tong Zhenzhen, it was unlikely that she would tell her the truth. Contrarily, she would not be able to explain why she knew that Wen Rugui would commit suicide. She just might exposed the fact that she was a transmigrator.

Besides, the plotline had been all messed up since her arrival.

Tong Zhenzhen’s life was far from smooth; nor did she get together with Fang Wanyuan. Not to mentioned that they had been re-united with their grandfather Commander Xiao.

So why would she think that the story arc will remain unchanged when it came to Wen Rugui?

Wen Rugui might be a little introverted, but he was also resilient. She couldn’t think of a reason why he would commit suicide.

Even if he did snap one day. As long as she was by his side, she would not let him go down that path.

With that all sorted out, Tong Xuelu let out a sigh of relief.

Her feelings for Wen Rugui had clouted her and she almost fell for Tong Zhenzhen’s trap.

It would really had gone wrong had she went searching out Tong Zhenzhen.

Came to think about it, part of the reason that Tong Zhenzhen had Fang Jingyuan relate the message might also be testing water.

After all, her personality was very different from that of the original owner. It would only make sense that Tong Zhenzhen had grown suspicious.

But now that she had taken time off, she was in no rush to head back to work.

She turned and headed toward the direction of the department store.

Wen Rugui had given her a watch and a ring when they got engaged. She wanted to get him something as well.

The only problem was that resources were difficult to come by at this day and age. Just because one has disposable income didn’t necessarily mean that they could get what they want.

She strolled through the department store and didn’t see anything that caught her eye. Finally, she arrived at the foreign good counter.

The economy might not have been very developed just yet, but there were still import/export. They didn’t measure up to later days and they were very limited.

There weren’t a big selection at the import counter. There were watches, alarms, and other small gadgets. As one would need to have foreign exchange tickets in order to buy imported products and not very many people could get their hands on those, there were very few people around the counter.

Tong Xuelu scanned over the counter and said, “Can I please take a look at the alarm and the Swiss Army knife please?”

The salesperson fetched what Tong Xuelu had asked for.

As technology continued to advance, electronics and smart goods dominated the market and items like Swiss Army knives had been eliminated over time.

That being said, a Swiss Army knife was still very handy in the next decade or so.

A Swiss Army life had a scissors, a small knife, a screw driver, plier, and a can opener on it and was very convenient.

Tong Xuelu asked the price for it. She purchased two Swiss Army knives and two alarms and spent all of the foreign exchange tickets that she had on her.

She had just stepped out of the department store and thought she might as well just go mail her gifts to Wen Rugui when she looked up and saw two people walking toward her.

She frowned immediately.

The two who were talking toward her was Xiao Jiu’s mother Gu Yilan and the person she was going to see earlier – Tong Zhenzhen.

How were these two together?

She had been looking for Su Yueshen for the last month and had been missing him. In fact, Su Yueshen hadn’t even been in Capital City in the last month.

He also did not make her engagement party a few days ago. She didn’t think that Tong Zhenzhen had acted so fast and had already befriended Gu Yilan.

She was just contemplating whether or not to come face to face with Tong Zhenzhen when the other two had already spotted her.

Tong Zhenzhen walked over with Gu Yilan, “Big Sister Xuelu, are you here to shop as well?”

Hearing the way that Tong Zhenzhen referred to Tong Xuelu, Gu Yilan looked stunned. “Do you know Comrade Tong, Zhenzhen? You had never mentioned that before. That being said, you two have the same surnames. Are you two related?”

Tong Xuelu did not respond to that.

She might have saved Xiao Jiu but she had always maintained an amicable relationship with Gu Yilan. They were neither close nor distance from each other.

She could tell from the way Gu Yilan address Tong Zhenzhen that the two of them were close.
