Chapter 495- Something happened to the Su family. (3)

Tong Xuelu, “I ran into Gu Yilan and Tong Zhenzhen at the department store a few days ago. Tong Zhenzhen is the daughter of my adoptive mother and I had something to do with her being sent to the ranch a while back.”

Su Yueshen was a smart man and he frowned after he heard that. “Are you saying that Tong Zhenzhen approached my wife purposefully?”

Tong Xuelu, “That’s my guess. And I think she might have been told by someone to do that.”

“Who would do such a thing?”

“Minister Yan of the Finance Department.”

Su Yueshen was taken aback a little when he heard the name and then his frown deepened.

Tong Xuelu carried on. “Tong Zhenzhen wasn’t supposed to be released from the ranch for another few months. She turned into the living Lei Feng a while back when she saved a mother and son from drowning. And the person who witnessed her act was none other than Minister Yan.”

Tong Xuelu stopped there. She did not see the need to go any further.

Certainly she was not going to mention anything about her suspicion of Yan Yongan murdering his own wife. She had no evidence to support that after all.

Su Yueshen would not go and investigate Yan Yongan simply based on what she told him. She only wanted give Su Yueshen a reason to keep an eye out on Yan Yongan and that would be sufficient.

As for the rest, what they had done would catch up to them eventually. The time for them to pay for their crime would surely come.

Su Yueshen was, after all, a competent man. He immediately understood Tong Xuelu’s message. “Thank you, Comrade Tong. I would stop Yilan from further contact with that Tong Zhenzhen.”

Tong Xuelu did not mention anything about keeping an eye out on Yan Yongan but both had an understanding already.

Tong Xuelu was just about to stand up and bid him farewell when a voice came from the door’s side.

“Comrade Tong, I know you are the person who saved my son. But that doesn’t mean it gave you the right to meddle in my life. I do not need your permission on who I can be friends with!”

Gu Yilan came barging in and her white face was beet red. Her voice was still soft and tender, but also very accusatory.

Su Yueshen said, “Yilan, it is not what you think. Comrade Tong simply wants to let us know that Tong Zhenzhen is someone that we should watch out for.”

Gu Yilan frowned and said, “Zhenzhen is not that kind of a person. Besides, she had never said anything negative about Comrade Tong in front of me.”

Tong Xuelu sighed to herself and said, “Comrade Su, Comrade Gu, I trust that time will time. I have nothing further to say. I am going to take off now.”

She had already made Tong Zhenzhen showed her true colors in front of Gu Yilan last time and Gu Yilan had wanted to keep a distance already. Low and behold the two made up again shortly thereafter.

She had no idea what Tong Zhenzhen had said to Gu Yilan but, right now, Tong Xuelu had already labeled Gu Yilan as the brainless kind of people in her mind.

But there was also no point in explaining when she was upset.

As such, she wasn’t even going to bother.

Tong Xuelu turned and left.

Su Yueshen’s face dropped. “Did you even hear yourself? Comrade Tong had saved Xiao Jiu’s life. You can’t talk to her like that even just for that!”

Gu Yilan had never been yelled at by Su Yueshen before. She burst into tears. “You scolded me for another woman. Wuwuwu……”

Su Yueshen’s frown deepened. “Can you just think things through before you open your mouth? The way you put it will make others think that Comrade Tong and I are having some sort of an affair had anyone overheard our conversation!”

Gu Yilan covered up her face and wept. “No, you didn’t. But who knew about her!”

Su Yueshen was truly angry this time. “Shut up, Gu Yilan!”

Gu Yilan was startled and her face turned pale. “I am not going to shut up. If she didn’t have any intentions toward you, why would she come visit our place so often and always asked about your whereabouts? And she came over as soon as you have returned……”

BAM!

Su Yueshen had grabbed the ceramic mug from the table and smashed it on the floor.

The room had gone silent.

Tong Xuelu overheard the conversation from the inside and her lips tightened coldly.

What she had worried about happened anyway.

She had purposefully kept a distance from Su Yueshen but, in the eyes of those who wanted to see things, they were still able to see what they wanted to see.
