After her family had finished presenting their gifts, all the guests looked over at Ning Zhi with envy. Just these few gifts added up to over 10 million yuan, an astronomical amount for birthday party gifts.

“Xiao Jue, what did you prepare for Xiao Zhi?” Mother knew that her son cared for Ning Zhi, so she had purposefully mentioned to him that it was almost Ning Zhi’s birthday and reminded him to prepare a gift in advance.

Her son nodded in acknowledgement at the time.

Mother Lu was very curious about what her son got Ning Zhi for her birthday.

Old Mrs. Song, too, was very interested in Lu Jue’s gift. “Where is Xiao Jue’s gift?”

With a haughty look, Old Mr. Ning waited to see what Lu Jue had prepared.

Although Lu Jue had pinched his lips shut, looking very nonchalant, he was in truth a bit eager for his turn to give his gift. Everybody else had already given Ning Zhi their gifts except for him. However, he remembered that Wei Xing had told him not to share what the birthday gift was before he actually gave it to her. Otherwise, it would ruin the surprise.

As such, Lu Jue said slowly, “My present is for Ning Zhi’s eyes only.”

He, too, wanted to present it to her as soon as possible.

Old Mr. Ning harrumphed. “Don’t tell me that you had forgotten to prepare a gift for Ning Zhi.”

“I did. For Zhizhi’s eyes only.” Lu Jue insisted.

Ning Zhi was prepared to not get anything from Lu Jue. After all, he acted like he was not aware that her birthday was coming up.

Now that she had found out that he had prepared something for her. She started looking forward to it.

Holding his hand, she said, “Give it to me in private later then. We won’t show it to anyone else.”

Lu Jue nodded. There was bashfulness in his pitch-black eyes. The little black clouds with lightning over Lu Jue’s head instantly disappeared. In their place, a little sun popped out. “Show Zhizhi in private.”

The banquet continued. After seeing how much the Ning family, the Lu family, and the Song family valued Ning Zhi, many of the guests went up to converse and socialize with her.

Meanwhile, Lu Jue was very anxious inside. It was like he was sitting in pins and needles as he waited the entire time for the banquet to end.

He could barely contain himself toward the end of the banquet.

Noticing Lu Jue’s anxiousness, she smiled to herself. “Where’s my gift? Show it to me.”

Lu Jue beamed when he heard that. Picking up Ning Zhi’s hand, he started bringing her away from the venue. “I will show to Zhizhi.”

However, the two didn’t go very far before they were stopped by the butler, who had been looking for them.

“Young Master Lu Jue, Young Madam. Madam said they would like to have a photo with Old Mr. Ning,” said the butler.

Ning Zhi was a little surprised. It was true that it was not easy for her grandfather to make a trip here. “Okay, we will head over now.”

She looked over at Lu Jue. Sure enough, she saw that his lips were shut tightly, looking extremely disappointed. Even his well-done up fringes draped down, making him look pitiful.

Ning Zhi found that comical. Nevertheless, she comforted him sweetly, saying, “Let’s go back and take the photo first. We will go see my gift as soon as we are done with the photos.”
