That night, as soon as Lu Jue walked out of the bathroom with his wet hair after his shower, he was dragged right back inside by Ning Zhi who was waiting by the door.
“You must dry your hair.”
With the male nurse waiting inside the room watching over Lu Jue, their only place for privacy is the bathroom.
Lu Jue let Ning Zhi dragged him back into the bathroom. He even voluntarily closed the door behind them.
A pair of moist and bright black eyes looked blankly at Ning Zhi. Lu Jue slowly called out to her, “Zhizhi.”
Ning Zhi shoved a dry towel inside his hands. “Do it yourself.”
Lu Jue took a quick look at her, lifted the towel, and casually ran it over his hair a few times.
“Go on.” Ning Zhi gestured for him to go on.
Lu Jue continued to dry his hair quietly.
After a long hair, Ning Zhi pulled the towel out of his hands. Under his blank look, she rubbed his bangs and his hair on both sides gently. “This is how you do it.”
Under the soft light, Ning Zhi looked very focused and Lu Jue peeked at her.
Zhizhi gentle.
“Don’t go straight to bed. Let’s to watch a movie and relax some. What do you say?” She didn’t have much time left. She wanted to spend some quality time with Lu Jue with what she had left. Staying all day long inside his room and in the corner were too boring.
Lu Jue blinked and looked at her blankly.
“Don’t worry. I will be by your side.” Ning Zhi put down the towel and reached out for his hand.
Her fingertips were small and white and her little hand soft. She held onto Lu Jue’s large and coarse hand covered with wounds. She even intertwined their fingers and held onto him tightly.
Lu Jue lowered his eyes and looked at the large and small hands holding onto each other. The bottom of his eyes lit up where nobody could see.
The male nurse saw Lu Jue walked out of the bathroom with his hair messy before turning and headed toward the bedroom door.
“You want to go out, Young Master Lu Jue?” said the male nurse in surprise.
This was the usual time when Lu Jue would crawl into bed on his own after he had showered.
Lu Jue did not respond to him. He opened the door and let Ning Zhi brought him out.
Lu Jue should not be going out in his current state but the there was a home theater inside the Lu’s place. Ning Zhi planned to watch a movie with him there.
The male nurse recollected himself and followed behind them quickly. “Young Master Lu Jue……”
There was a huge screen inside the home theater along with a couch and end tables. There was also a mini fridge and snack drawers on one side. It was very convenient.
“Young Master Lu Jue? You want to watch a movie?” The male nurse was shocked. It was the first time ever he had seen Lu Jue leaving his room since he was hired.
Lu Jue gave the male nurse an unhappy look. He felt that this person was in his way. He only wanted to be with Zhizhi and nobody else. “You leave.”
“Young Master Lu Jue, I can’t leave. Just let me know if you need anything.” The male nurse could not leave. If anything happen to Lu Jue when he was not around, he could not be responsible for that.
The male nurse waited at the door.
“It’s fine. Let him stay there.” Ning Zhi smiled. They were going to turn the light off when they watched the movie anyway.
Holding Lu Jue’s hand, Ning Zhi had him picked out a comedy. She wanted Lu Jue to be happier.
The home theater turned dark after they had turned the lights off. Only the light from the screen remained.
The male nurse was worried. He kept staring into the room.
Ning Zhi sat on the couch and had Lu Jue fetched her a beverage from the fridge and some snacks.
“Here Zhizhi.” Lu Jue handed Ning Zhi a bottle of yogurt.
“You feed to me. I can’t touch it.” With the nurse continuing staring at their direction, he could still see a little bit of what was going on from the light off the screen.
She did not wish to frighten him with a bottle of floating yogurt.
Hearing Ning Zhi asked him to feed her, there was shyness and helplessness in Lu Jue’s pitch-black eyes. He stood to one side nervously with his half-dried messy hair.
