Ning Zhi did not miss his burning look. Being stared at like that, she couldn't help but gave Lu Jue a stare. “Stop looking at me. Eat.”

Lu Jue, being caught red-handed, had no idea what embarrassment was. He lowered his head and ate docilely. After a long while, he looked back up at Ning Zhi again.

He looked at her over and over again. He could not get enough of her.

As calm as Ning Zhi was, she still blushed from Lu Jue’s stare. He had no idea what restraint or moderation was.

Ning Zhi sent Lu Jue on his way after dinner.

It was dark outside and Lu Jue did not want to leave Ning Zhi at all. He worried that she would disappear again after he left.

Meeting Lu Jue’s longing and pleading eyes, Ning Zhi looked away and said coldly, “I’ll have the butler see you out.”

Lu Jue pinched his lips shut a little and, his gaze glued on her, said docilely, “I will see you tomorrow, Ning Zhi.”

He would come look for Zhizhi again tomorrow.

Ning Zhi was taken aback a little. She said coldly, “No, don’t come again tomorrow.”

Lu Jue lowered his eyes and hid his disappointed look. “Will come. Miss Zhizhi.”

Ning Zhi kept her face straight.

“This way please, Young Master Lu Jue.” The butler was signaling Lu Jue to leave.

Lu Jue turned to leave. He turned back around after a few steps. His moist, black, and bright eyes looked at Ning Zhi pleadingly. He very much wished that Ning Zhi would allow him to stay.

Ning Zhi pretended that she did not see the longing in his eyes.
