Lu Jue lowered his head, his lips shut tightly. He was pitiful like a puppy who had failed to get its owner’s attention.

The Lu’s chauffeur was still waiting outside the Ning’s front door. He quickly picked himself up when he saw his Second Young Master walking out.

Lu Jue’s plan had really worked. After standing outside for a whole day, he was finally able to step foot inside the Ning’s residence.

He heard that Miss Ning had many suitors but Miss Ning was not interested in any of them. He didn’t think that their Young Master would be able to talk to Miss Ning.

Seeing Lu Jue walking over, the chauffeur quickly got out of the car and opened the door. “Please, Second Young Master.”

Lu Jue was not happy at all. It had only been a short while and he already missed Zhizhi.

The butler approached Ning Zhi again the next day.

“Miss, Young Master Lu from yesterday had returned. He is waiting outside our door. Would you like to let him in?”

Ning Zhi didn’t think that Lu Jue would have returned again. She eyes moved a little. “No, just ignore him.”

“Yes, Miss.” The butler had thought that since their miss had brought Young Master Lu inside yesterday, she would let him in again today. Lo and behold, their miss looked calm and did not seem like she had intended to pay that Young Master Lu any attention.

Ning Zhi had the car ready for her after breakfast. She had plans today.

Ning Zhi saw Lu Jue standing outside the door when the car drove out of the big iron gate. He was still in red today and in his hands was a big bouquet of red roses.

His clear and handsome eyes and brow were prettier than the flowers that he was holding.

Lu Jue, standing outside the door, seemed to have sensed something. He looked up and saw a car driving out and driving past him.

Lu Jue saw Ning Zhi inside the car right away.

Zhizhi is going out.

The butler walked over. “Mr. Lu, please take off. Miss had said that she would not engage with you again no matter how much time you spend waiting.”

“Wait Zhizhi.” Lu Jue was very stubborn and persistent.

The days were getting hotter and hotter by the day in the middle of summer. The sun was so strong that even the leaves on the trees on the side of the road were curled up. The atmosphere was so suffocating that it made one irritable.

Inside the car not far away, the chauffeur looked at Lu Jue standing under the burning sun like a fool with a bouquet of flowers in his hand and couldn't help but sighed.

It was very obvious that Miss Ning was not interested in him. She must have only invited him inside to be polite yesterday.

Lu Jue had on a red hoodie today but he did not feel hot. Not feeling hot, however, did not mean that he was not hot.

Sweat was rolling down his forehead, the side of his cheeks, and his neck. His mouth was pinched shut tightly and his lips were dried and their lines clear. His cold and fair face were red from the heat. He stood there straight without moving an inch.

That was what Ning Zhi saw when she returned that afternoon.

He was still here.

Ning Zhi took a look at him from inside the car. She was just about to turn away when, the very next second, Lu Jue looked up and looked into her eyes as though he had sensed her looking at him.

Lu Jue’s pitch-black eyes lit up instantly when he saw her. It was like all the time that he spent waiting did not matter one bit.

Ning Zhi felt that her little heart was bumped violently by something. The shock made her heart shuddered.

“Zhizhi.”

Ning Zhi could tell from his lips that he was calling her name.

Her heart pounded again and she had no control over it.

The car drove in front of Lu Jue and into the Ning’s. The big metal gate closed behind it.

Lu Jue could no longer see Ning Zhi.
