They had only travelled a meter or two after walking out of the office when Gu Nian ran up to Luo Xiu with a troubled look.

“Mr. Luo Xiu, please do not misunderstand.”

Luo Xiu turned toward her, his brown eyes tender like jade. “Misunderstand what?”

“I really, really don’t resent you,” said Gu Nian seriously.

Luo Xiu nodded. “I know.”

“… … Oh?”

Gu Nian had prepared a very verbose speech in mind to convince him. She didn’t think Luo Xiu would have responded so lightly.

She looked up in surprised and tried to look into Luo Xiu’s eyes.

He stopped himself the last minute but decided to give her a hard time. He stood up, smiled, and said to Gu Nian, “You accepted cheerfully last time. What’s up with this time?”

Gu Nian, “I did not accept ‘cheerfully’ last time either…”

Assistant Director Lin pretended that he didn’t hear her. Glancing over at the man sitting behind her with a nonchalant look and a hint of s mile, he said in a low voice, as though instigating, “Other scenes are okay but not a kiss scene? How come it sounds like you have something against Luo Xiu?”

Gu Nian, “? ?”

Gu Nian, “No, no, no. That is not true. Now you are just putting words into my mouth!”

With her back to Luo Xiu, Gu Nian tried to wave her hands in front of her as best she could, trying to stop Assistant Director Lin before he went any further.

When her brain was working again, Gu Nian looked at Assistant Director Lin, mortified, and blurted out, “No, most definitely no!”

Assistant Director Lin, “… …?”

The air in the office froze for a few second. Assistant Director Lin, watching Gu Nian who was both alarmed and solemn, busted out laughing, “Okay, it might be a little tricky but do you need to overreact like that?”

Gu Nian was anxious, “This is not a matter of it being tricky, alright?”

Assistant Director Lin, “Well, what is it then?”

Gu Nian, “It’s…”

It was straight up immoral, of course!

By now Gu Nian was completely startled awake by the words “kiss scene” and was no longer sleepy. As frantic as she was, she still remembered that she could not say what was on her mind out loud in front of Luo Xiu.

“Not just a lot, a ridiculous amount!” The little assistant gestured a small mountain with his hands. “I gathered that all of the gifts from the last two years were probably enough to fill over half of a 20 square meter storage.”

The little assistant only noticed that their boss was not in the best of mood when he had finished talking.

Luo Xiu recollected himself and returned to his normal look. “I will go through the other gifts when I get back. As for the scarf… have them look for it.”
