Jiang Xiaoqing carefully walked over to Gu Nian. Squatted down next to the couch, she asked, “Luo Xiu didn’t cross the line with you, did he? He did record ahead of time his own ‘criminal evidences’……”

“What criminal evidences?” asked Gu Nian with her lingering breath.

Jiang Xiaoqing placed Luo Xiu’s cellphone in front of Gu Nian and briefly described the incident that took place in the elevator lobby to Gu Nian.

Upon hearing that, Gu Nian shuffled a little on the couch and, with a weathered look, said, “You have worried about the wrong person. My precious son is such a docile person, he would never commit a crime. If anything would have happened, of course I’d be the one who would commit the crime.”

Just when she was reflecting upon herself painfully and tried her best to extract any useful information from her puddle-like brain, she heard rustling noises coming from the bed –

The thin blanket rolled around some and the man, with his eyes still closed, rolled to his side and continued to sleep soundly while facing her direction.

Perhaps because the alcohol had not completely retreated from her brain, Gu Nian stood there and stared for two extra seconds.

Her precious son was so good looking, she wanted to……

Gu Nian recollected herself immediately.

Inside room 717 of Xingyue Hotel in some unknown little town. The morning sun was already shining in through the window and onto the wooden floor by the bed.

The blanket piled up high in bed and between the light and shadow were the figures of two individuals.

During a certain quiet moment, Gu Nian, lying on the left side, suddenly opened up her eyes with a frightened look.

She had a dream, a nightmare.

The dream was odd and in pieces, as though one was watching a television show that had no logic whatsoever to follow. She couldn’t remember the storyline or characters at the start of it. The most memorable part was the very last part toward the end……

After Luo Xiu was finally able to “lure” the half drunk and half-asleep girl into his suite and, before he could figure out how to get her to wash her, the ringer of Gu Nian’s cellphone, which she had shoved in her chest, suddenly went off loudly inside the quiet room.

The girl, leaning against the headboard, raised the phone, squinted her eyes and tried her best to make out who the caller was.

Then, lifting her phone up to Luo Xiu, the girl with a foolish look on her giggled and said, “Look, precious son, it’s a video chat!”

Luo Xiu paused a little and looked up to stop her.

But it was too late.
