Son, “Mom” Will Back You - Ch 154
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Even though he was prepared, it still took Luo Xiu a couple steps back before he was able to stabilize himself. The bone-chilling coldness disappeared from his eyes and his first reaction was to look check on the girl that he was holding in his arms.
He wasn’t as lucky this time.
His movement’s range was too wide and, as such, the girl who was in deep sleep was woken up by the violent rocking.
Nevermind the shriek from the garbage from just a few meters away that sounded like a pig being slaughtered.
It was impossible for Gu Nian to stay asleep.

The young man’s eyes flickered a little and, gesturing the exit from the patio behind the man, he smiled again.
When he started to talk again, his voice was calm and gentlemanly. It was soft like he didn’t wish to wake someone. “This is your last chance. Get the * out of here on your own.”
“––!”
The middle-aged man recollected himself all of a sudden and his face turned beet red from fury.
He was furious. He had to take a few deep breaths before his brain could function again. He was finally able to form words again.

Luo Xiu bend down, picked Gu Nian up sideways, and headed for the patio exit.
He had just walked down the hollowed planks before he heard someone at the entrance of the patio. He looked up.
He knew the person coming toward them. At least he recognized his face––
He was the one who came over to make Gu Nian drink after he found out that she was drinking for Luo Xiu. He was also one of Demons’ investors.
He middle-aged man was already red from all the alcohol and probably recommended by the server to get some fresh air from the only patio of the hotel.*
Apparently recognizing Luo Xiu, he stopped a few meters from them, “Aren’t you that……”
His voice, slurred from the alcohol, stopped abruptly when he saw the girl sleeping in Luo Xiu’s arms.

Gu Nian, recovering some, recalled their unfinished conversation on their script review. “Oh right. You still haven’t told me your thought on Youtan.”
Luo Xiu recollected himself. His voice softened. “Youtan was probably both a lucky and unlucky person.”
“Hmm?” Gu Nian was surprised. “That had never crossed my mind… … I get why you say he was unlucky. He started out as Buddhism’s sacred youtanhua but were dragged in innocently. Not only did he demonize and had human emotions that ruined all of his cultivation, he did not end up with the one that he loved in the end either.”
“Mmhmm.”
“This character had been meant to be a sad one since the conceptual phase. Where was the happy part?” asked Gu Nian.
“He felt so himself,” said Luo Xiu.
