The Running Pork

So even though Chinese is my first language, there are still sayings in webnovels that I have never heard before. Here’s one that I find funny:

I might have never had pork before, but I have seen running pigs.

I’ve asked two different people — a non-Chinese speaker and a not-so-fluent one — neither one of them guessed the meaning correctly.

It basically meant: I have never done / practice [whatever actions it was referring to in the context] but I have read the instructions / get the gist of it.

In webnovel context, usually it was used when the MC was referring to intimacy. They have never performed the act themselves, but they have a pretty good idea.

Riiiight, ‘cuz who won’t be able to tell what pork taste like from watching a pig run, right? ;)
