Jiang Qiuyi went to pick up Lu Mingcheng from the airport the next evening.
She had been doing that since she married Lu Mingcheng. She would always be at the airport to pick him up no matter how late his flight was.
She got out of the car and walked inside of the airport after she had arrived at the airport with their chauffeur.
Tis was winter time and it was quite cold at night.
Jiang Qiuyi had just walked to the arrival area when she spotted Lu Mingcheng walking out.
He was in his full suit and he was tall and handsome. He looked classy and calm.
Truth was, other than the one crazy night that they’ve had together, she accepted his marriage proposal because of his looks.
She knew a long time ago that she would have no say in who she was going to marry. She was better off marrying Lu Mingcheng instead of some man arranged for her by her money-grubbing parents.
At least, his look was good enough to be a meal in and of itself.
All of a sudden, a loud cry from afar brought her back to her current moment.
Jiang Qiuyi looked up and saw Lu Mingcheng with his arms around a woman whom she had never met before.
Well, he didn’t exactly have his arms around her but the two were definitely having some physical contacts with each other.
As she narrowed her eyes to look over there, the story in the novel suddenly popped into her mind.
In the novel, this was exactly how Lu Mingcheng and Xu Wanbai, the female lead, met. Xu Wanbai wasn’t paying attention as she was walking. She bumped into Lu Mingcheng accidentally and dirtied his suit.
She apologized to him, said she’d make it up to him, and asked him for his contact information.
Lu Mingcheng did not give her his contact information but she left an impression with him nonetheless.

Two minutes later, Jiang Qiuyi saw Lu Mingcheng walked over to her in a steady pace with his suit jacket hanging over his arm.
“You’ve been here for a while?” Lu Mingcheng gave her a look.
Jiang Qiuyi recollected herself and asked in a low voice. “What was that?”
Lu Mingcheng lifted his brows some, looked over in the direction that she was gesturing at, and said nonchalantly, “I don’t know.”
“Oh…”
Jiang Qiuyi looked straight at him for a little while before she nodded. “What did she say to you?”
Upon hearing that, Lu Mingcheng didn’t think too much about it and told her the truth, “She asked me for my contact information so she could make it up to me.”
Jiang Qiuyi, “… …”
She was expressionless on the outside but, inside, she was frantic.
It was exactly the same!
The same as the first meeting between the male and female leads in the novel!
Noticing her look, Lu Mingcheng asked coldly, “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing.” Jiang Qiuyi made herself appeared as calm as possible and said, “Let’s go home.”
Lu Mingcheng, “Mmm.”
Once they had gotten inside of the car, Jiang Qiuyi asked him about his wellbeing as usual.
Lu Mingcheng gave her a couple standard responses and closed his eyes to rest up. With that, Jiang Qiuyi stopped talked and just be the breathing log that she was.
She turned and looked at the night sceneries that were passing them by and her brain was jumbled up.
She hadn’t expected the story to progress so quickly and that she would have been able to confirm it on the very next day after she had found out about it.
Jiang Qiuyi lowered her eyes and continued to recall the rest of the story.
After the first meeting between the male and female leads, they would run into each other again in three days’ time because of one of Lu Corporation’s project. Lu Mingcheng would be the client and Xu Wanbai was part of the team on the vendor’s side.
Jiang Qiuyi looked over at the man sitting next to her.
Lu Mingcheng still had his eyes closed. She couldn’t tell if he was really asleep or just faking it. He looked tired.
