Jiang Qiuyi wanted to ask him about the project. If that was true as well, then she would believe that the story was real.

A man’s voice rang next to her ears all of a sudden.
“There’s something that you want to ask me?”
Jiang Qiuyi looked up. Lu Mingcheng’s eyes had opened up without her knowing.
“No, nothing.”
She paused for a little and said in a tender voice. “You look tired. Have you been working a lot lately?”
Lu Mingcheng rubbed his temple. “Mmm,” he said. “It’s always busy toward year end.”
Jiang Qiuyi nodded. “You should still watch out for your health. Don’t overextend yourself.”
Lu Mingcheng nodded.
Jiang Qiuyi stopped for a little before she turned toward him. “If you are tired, do you want to take a couple days off and stay home?”
Lu Mingcheng shook his head, “I can’t right now.”
He said in a low voice, “We are in the middle of negotiating on this one project. I need to be there in person.”
“What project is that?”
Hearing that, Lu Mingcheng gave her a dubious look.
Jiang Qiuyi understood the meaning of the look. She had never asked him anything about his work before.
She tried to act as nonchalant as she could. She didn’t want Lu Mingcheng to pick up any clues from her.
Lu Mingcheng looked away and gave her a simple answer. “A resort.”
Jiang Qiuyi was taken aback a little. Her fist clenched tightly.
In the novel, the female lead was one of the architects on the Lu Corporation’s resort project.
She had more opportunities in coming into contacts with Lu Mingcheng because of this project and two of them grew to know each other well.

Once they had arrived home, Jiang Qiuyi didn’t pay more attention to Lu Mingcheng but headed to the bathroom to wash up.
Soaking in the tub, she thought through the story one more time. The better idea she had of the story, the harder she clenched her fists.
She had made up her mind.
Since she could not be the one to bring up divorce, then she was to fully experience the life as a woman of a prominent family.
She would let go of all the restraints that she had placed upon herself and just enjoy herself.
In the past, she had wanted to be the good Mrs. Lu and, also because of her family background, she was disliked among the Lu family and had low self-esteem. As such, she had been very frugal and always worried about spending an extra penny of Lu Mingcheng’s money.
Right now, Jiang Qiuyi had decided that she would no longer live her life as though she was treading on thin ice day in and day out. It didn’t matter what she did, Lu Mingcheng would divorce her one way or another. As such, what was the point of trying to salvage her marriage?
Lu Mingcheng happened to walk into the bedroom after he had washed up in a different bathroom the same time as she walked out.
The two made eye contact and Jiang Qiuyi took a step back when he walked closer to her.
Lu Mingcheng lifted his brows and looked at her quizzically.
Jiang Qiuyi tightened her lips some and asked all of a sudden, “You had given me a supplementary card previously. I said I can use it as I please, right?”
Lu Mingcheng had given her a card after they have been married. She seemed to remember that there was no amount limit on it but she had never once used it.
Lu Mingcheng was a little surprised but replied in a low voice, “Of course.”
Hearing that, Jiang Qiuyi smiled without a worry.
“Oh.” Her eyes curved and she walked over to the bed without giving him another look.
“Let’s go to bed then.”
“… …”
Lu Mingcheng took at look at the woman laying in bed and, after noticing that she wasn’t in the mood, didn’t push the issue.
Lifting the blanket up from the other side and getting into bed, he fell into deep sleep.
The couple sleeping on the same bed dreamt different dreams.
