Chapter 190 - "Why didn't Daddy send me flowers too?" (3)

Cheng Huan walked over dubiously. She thought it was delivery for something that she had ordered but, when she walked up, she saw a bunch of reddish-orange roses.

“Who gave this to you?” Cheng Huan picked up the bunch of flowers but did not see anything that resembled a card on the inside.

“An uncle.”

“What does the uncle look like?”

XingXing’s look was blank. He tried to recall but as the time he was in contact with the person was short, he really couldn’t recall his look. He thought about it long and hard but finally shook his head. “I don’t know.”

Cheng Huan, “……”

She had an idea. The original owner had complicated relationships in the past but she had severed more or less all of the ties since she had transmigrated over. Not very many people know her new address and, subtracting the married ones and children from them, the only one remaining was Jiang MingYuan.

But why would he send her flowers?

Cheng Huan felt that that was not something that Jiang MingYuan would do at all. Judging from the fact that he wore his suits 365 days a year, there was no way he would do something like this.

She tried to look for reasons to shoot down her own idea but she could suppress her thoughts. Her lips shut tightly, she put the flowers on top of the end table, took a look at XingXing, and walked into the bedroom hastily.

She pulled out her cellphone, pulled up the recently contacted list, and dialed the number. When she was connected, she cleared her throat and asked dryly, “Did you… have someone deliver flowers?”

“Yes, you received them?” Jiang MingYuan admitted to it. Spinning his pen in his right hand, he had a nonchalant look on him but his voice was tender, “I don’t know what kind of flowers you like so I took the liberty to pick one. If you don’t like them, I can have them switch them out.”

His assistant was the one who gave him the idea of sending flowers.

After taking off from Cheng Huan’s the night before, Jiang MingYuan started studying up on how to chase a girl. All of the strategy tips online looked sort of hooky so he went to ask Qi Shan again.

As the number one assistant, Qi Shan had already gotten used to the abnormality surrounding the boss as of late. When asked by his boss how to chase a girl, he only went silent for a few seconds before he offered up his opinions.

He said a lot but they all boiled down to being passionate, attentive, and also occasionally pleasant surprises. Jiang MingYuan jotted down everything that he said and planned to try them all out.

Sending flowers was the first step.

Qi Shan said the kind of flowers that one sent have different meanings as well so Jiang MingYuan specifically consulted the florist before he decided on the reddish-orange roses – they conveyed his feelings but not too overly romantic.

Cheng Huan had no idea what to make of her feelings right now. She felt like she had gotten to know this person all over again. She acknowledged him, lowered her eyes, her fingers tangled together, and there was unconcealable happiness in her voice. “This is pretty good. No need to switch out.”

“Okay. I will keep sending this kind in the future.”

“Ahem.” His words startled her. She waved her arms in the air with her face reddened. “No need. It’s too wasteful.”

“It’s not wasteful if you like them.”

Cheng Huan, “……”

Cheng Huan’s heart throbbed from the one thing that he said. She bit down on her lower lip but still wasn’t able to stop her lips from curving upward. Her ears were burning. She lowered her voice and grumbled before she quickly looked for an excuse to hang up on the phone.

After she had hung up the phone, Cheng Huan pressed her cellphone against her chest. Her mouth was cracked open with her two canine teeth showing. She wanted to start singing.

Patting herself on her cheeks, she looked at the ceiling and thought to herself while holding onto the cellphone that was a little warm: It doesn’t feel half bad to be pursued.

Cheng Huan walked quickly back into the living room, look for a vase, poured in some water, put the flowers in one by one, and took a sniff.

When XingXing saw that, he wanted to sniff at the flowers as well. Burying his head into the flowers, he sniffed so hard that he was choked by the pollens.

“Ah-choo!” The little kiddo looked up and sneezed with his eyes squinted. Two drops of tear came out threw his squinted eyes. He rubbed his nose, wiped away the tears with the back of his hand, and complimented on the flowers bravely.

Then he asked, “Mommy, did you figure out who sent the flowers?”

“Yes, I did.”

“Who was it?”

“Your daddy.”

XingXing was baffled, “Why did Daddy send flowers?”

Why do kids have so many questions?

Cheng Huan took a deep breath and pinched her son on his cheeks with both hands. She wished he’d stop asking questions. Nevertheless, looking into his two curious eyes, she failed to dodge the question.

“Daddy sent Mommy flowers because Daddy likes Mommy.”

It felt so odd to say out loud that someone liked her. It felt so shameless. Unfortunately, the only audience in the room did not comprehend Mommy’s complicated emotions.

XingXing’s eyes widened in disbelief. He stomped his foot while standing on the couch and complained, “Why didn’t Daddy send meflowers then?”
