Chapter 191 - His arms were pale; veins could be seen; he was very masculine. (1)

Cheng Huan felt minorly defeated. For a second there she wondered if she had lost her mind. Why would she discuss this topic with a little child?

After she had locked eyes with XingXing for a little while, she pursed her lips, looked away, and decided to draw his attention away from herself. “That you will have to ask Daddy.”

As such, just a few minutes after he had spoken to Cheng Huan, Jiang MingYuan received a call from his son.

He was just eating lunch and was surprised that XingXing would call him at this hour. He thought perhaps something had happened but, when he answered the call, he immediately received the complaint from his son. “Daddy, do you not like me!”

“Why do you say that?” Jiang MingYuan was very surprised. He thought perhaps someone had instigated this. The first person that popped into his mind was his mother and his face dropped right away. “Who told you that?”

“Nobody! I know know!” XingXing place both hands on his waist and, the more he thought about it the angrier he got. “You sent flowers to Mommy but not me because you don’t like me!”

After Cheng Huan, Jiang MingYuan, too, was made speechless by his son.

He felt guilty about suspecting his own mother for a brief second then, taking a deep breath, he paused and said in resort, “Would XingXing like some flowers too?”

“Yes!” said XingXing in a very decisively tone.

“Okay. You wait, darling. Some uncle will bring them over in half an hour or so. That good?”

“Okay!” After getting the answer that he wanted to hear, the little kiddo was no longer upset. He removed his hands from his waist and sat back down on the couch. Swinging his two legs back and forth, he professed his love for his daddy. “Daddy, I like you too.”

“Daddy likes XingXing too.”

Then he said pitifully, “But I don’t have money. I can’t buy you flowers.”

“That’s alright….” Jiang MingYuan sighed and said, “Daddy doesn’t like flowers anyway. You don’t need to send me any.”

After he had successfully defended his piggy bank, XingXing was even happier now than before. His cheeks pushed into two little bundles of flesh, he said goodbye to his Daddy, thoroughly instituting the mannerism of use and dump.

“Okay, Daddy’s hanging up now. Bye, darling.”

“Bye, Daddy!”

After the conversation had ended, XingXing put his hands down and bragged to his mother. “Daddy’s flowers will be here soon.”

“Okay.” Cheng Huan, who had heard the entire conversation, didn’t even want to say another word. Ignoring her son’s gloat, she turned and pulled out the pineapple from the refrigerator, getting ready to start making lunch.

Jiang MingYuan said half an hour when, in fact, it took less than half an hour.

Qi Shan was the one who brought the flowers as the florist would be too slow and the boss had to meet up with a client. He was the only one who could do it.

He rang the doorbell with the flowers in hand and, along with a crisp voice from the inside, the safety door opened up in front of him.

It was a not-too-tall little kid who opened the door. He looked up at him, his eyes stayed on the flowers, and he reached out for the flowers. “Uncle, these are for me from my daddy.”

“Yes, these are for you.” Qi Shan handed him the flowers and he smelled a sweet aroma in the air. He looked up, nodded at Cheng Huan, who was walking out of the kitchen, and said to her, “I am going to take off now if there’s nothing else.”

“No, there is nothing else.” Cheng Huan walked over and said somewhat apologetically. “Sorry to trouble you for the kid.”

“It’s no problem at all. My schedule is open this afternoon anyway so I was able to drop this off,” Qi Shan lied as he waved his hand.

You must be kidding. The ones living here very likely would be the future boss lady and the little young master. It didn’t matter if his schedule was full. He would still have to say that he was widely available. He didn’t want to offend anyone if he appeared to be reluctant.

Having said that, Qi Shan didn’t stay for too long. He said he had other matters to tend to and took off.

Cheng Huan only closed the door and looked at the bundle of flowers after Qi Shan had walked inside of the elevator.

That, too was a large bundle of flowers made up of pastel colored deflers and gypsophila. It was actually quite pretty.

Hugging the bundle of flowers that was wider than him, XingXing asked curiously, “How come my flowers are not the same as Mommy’s?”

“These are called fanxing hua. Aren’t they pretty?” Ignoring his question, Cheng Huan told him what the flowers were called.

Hearing that the flowers’ name also has his name in it, he loved them immediately. He placed the bundle of flowers onto the floor and poked at the pedals with his little hand. Bobbing his head, he continued to gloat. “These flowers are so pretty! Even prettier than Mommy’s!”

“Oh?” said Cheng Huan coldly. Looking at her son on the floor, she said, “No pineapple fried rice for you this afternoon.”

“Nooooo, Mommy!”
