Chapter 204 - "Madam is waiting for you in the office." (2)

Seeing that Cheng Huan was bringing the food out, Jiang MingYuan voluntarily went to get the utensils. The three of them sat around the dining table to have their first meal after the move. Jiang MingYuan needed to go to work afterward. When Cheng Huan walked him out and waited for the elevator with him, she said to him, “You don’t need to get me flowers anymore.”

Jiang MingYuan was taken aback a little. He nodded at her and said, “Alright.”

Then he asked, “What do you like?”

“Nothing much. You don’t need to get me anything.”

Jiang MingYuan found that answer troublesome. He frowned a little, as though he had run into a very difficult situation. “Are you sure?”

As they talked, the elevator door opened up in front of them. Cheng Huan shook her head again and reassured him that she didn’t want anything before she pushed him a little. “Alright, stop thinking about it and go to work.”

Jiang MingYuan nodded and walked inside of the elevator, deep in thought.

After breakfast XingXing wanted to play with his toys. Cheng Huan went upstairs with him. With XingXing playing with his toys and Cheng Huan with her mobile game, the two of them got along very well.

Cheng Huan played for a long while and felt a little empty when she put down her cellphone. She went downstair to prepare for lunch. XingXing resumed his playing after lunch. Cheng Huan hesitated a little while holding onto her cellphone and, finally, put her phone inside of her pocket, went upstairs, and looked for management books in the study.

She had been thinking about opening up chain restaurants ever since Jiang MingYuan had mentioned it yesterday. She did not have enough capital right now but it wouldn’t hurt to start learning about it first. It would be helpful when the day came when she has the capital.

Cheng Huan opened up the book with this beautiful anticipation. The book was written by some famed entrepreneur with a string of Tall, Big, and Classy titles. Cheng Huan was very impressed by them and felt for sure that she would be able to learn a lot from it.

She then flipped open to the first page…

Five minutes later, she was still on the same page. She flipped to the next page, then back. She looked loss and, after being dazed for a little, picked up her cellphone again, opened up the browser, and started searching for the term that she was not familiar with.

She continued reading while using her “dictionary” and barely made any progress the entire afternoon. When it was about to get dark outside, Cheng Huan put the book down and went to prepare for dinner.

She was half way through preparing dinner when Jiang MingYuan came home. He took off his suit and rolled his sleeves up to help out. Cheng Huan told him that she went to his study while she was chopping. “I borrowed a book from you.”

“Borrow away.” Jiang MingYuan was pleased that she had entered into his area. Deveining the last shrimp, he asked her which book she borrowed.

Cheng Huan told him the title of the book.

Jiang MingYuan was even happier when he learned that she was looking at management books. He turned around and gave her a list of titles and told her that those would compliment the one that she was reading very well.

“Of course, anything you read from a book can only be used a reference. You can’t believe in every word in there.” That was his final conclusion.

Cheng Huan nodded. “I know.”

The preparation time went by during their conversation. The two were still talking about this subject after dinner. Perhaps the subject happened to be Jiang MingYuan’s strong suit, he was much more talkative than normal. He not only listed out the longs and shorts of each book but also gave a lot of real-life situations that he had encountered.

When necessary, Jiang MingYuan was a very articulate person. The ups and downs in his stories caught the attention of both of his audiences.

The two audiences, nevertheless, looked at them from very different point of views. Cheng Huan looked at his experiences as an example and contemplated how she should handle the situation should they occurred to her. XingXing, on the other hand, listened to them like any other stories. He even found his daddy’s work very interesting afterward and wanted to go to work with him.

Jiang MingYuan didn’t hesitate for too long before he agreed to it and promised he would take XingXing with him into the office the next day.

XingXing was quite happy after he found out that he could go to the office with daddy the next day. He even asked to sleep with him that night.

“You little traitor.” Cheng Huan was a little speechless at the little kiddo’s behavior.

Jiang MingYuan smiled and didn’t say anything. He lifted his hand and rubbed XingXing on his head.
