Chapter 240 - They were both speechless about XingXing's behavior. (1)
Cheng Huan never played before but she had an idea of the rules. After watching a couple of rounds from behind Jiang MingYuan, she had figured out that though the man looked very serious, he had no intention of winning at all. He just offered up what the others needed.
Which was why the longer she watched, the more boring it got. So she looked for an excuse to take off early.
She was baffled, though. Leaning into the man’s arms, she brought it up, “Why did you lose your money on purpose?”
“Convenience.” Jiang MingYuan had no intention of wasting this good time on anything else. He picked her up with both arms as long as he finished talking then, hesitated for a fraction of a second between the secondary and guest bedroom, picked the one on the right and walked inside of it.
The light in the bedroom was not on and it was dark. The man was familiar with the layout of the room so he didn’t plan on turning the lights on. He walked around the screen, put Cheng Huan down on the bed and continued to kiss her while lying on top of her, starting from the corner of her lip, down to her chin, then downward over the neck, and finally bit her on her collarbone.
His breathing thickened and, propping himself up with both arms, he asked, “Let me go take a shower?”
The kissing felt so good that Cheng Huan also wasn’t in her normal mind. But what he had said brought her back right away.
She didn’t object to the next step between the two of them but she was inexperienced. The idea of what was going to happen next made her felt too shy to say “yes”.
The night was her best protection and it hid both her blushing cheeks and her teary eyes. Jiang MingYuan hadn’t heard back from her in a long while and thought she was unwilling. He was a little disappointed.
He felt that his body was burning up and he needed relief. His bottom line was still there and he would not force someone into something when they were unwilling. He finally bit her a few times on her shoulder for relief while he had his palms on her waist before he forced himself to get up and took off.
“I’ll take off then.”
“Mmm.” Cheng Huan grunted while biting down on her slip and, because of what had just happened between the two of them, her grunt was short and nasal and very seductive in the dark of night. She almost made the man by the bed lost his mind.

Nothing happened that night after all.
The next day was the first day after New Year and firecrackers started after midnight and went on all the way till the Sun was out.
Cheng Huan did not get a good night sleep as she wasn’t able to fall asleep the first half of the night and was disturbed by the firecrackers the second half of the night. She even felt dizzy when she got up in the morning. She went to wash her face with some cold water before she felt a little bit better.
She wasn’t the only one. The other two members of the family didn’t flare much better. Jiang MingYuan was doing alright, except some darkness under his eyes. XingXing was woken up multiple times that night and was still very sleepy. He had a big pout and complained that he hated firecrackers and wanted to sleep. His eyes closed up as he talked.
There were not much the two adults could do. Any other day they would just let him go back to sleep but today was the first day of New Year and they needed to greet the elders of the family. They couldn’t go too late in the late.
“Let him sleep for a little bit before we wake him up.” Jiang MingYuan laid down a blanket over the wide redwood chair in the living room and carried XingXing over before he placed another blanket over him. He walked into the dining room with Cheng Huan in his hand when he was done with those and said to her, “Let’s go eat.”
