As Country I had just undergone natural disaster, many tourists had cancelled their plans and the plane was not even half full.

Going from City S to the capital of Country I would take about 10 hours. Cheng Huan bought tickets in the economy section. The seats were narrow and she couldn’t hardly stretch her legs, let alone the food.

XingXing was still quite excited when he first got onto the plane. As time went on, he was less and less excited and finally dispirited after having dinner.

“Mom.” He placed a piece of vegetables that had already turned yellow into his mouth with a bitter look and said, “The food on this plane is not as good as the one before.”

Of course economy section could not measure up to first-class. Cheng Huan patted him on his head and didn’t say anything. She put him on her lap after he was done and wooed him to sleep.

She stopped found someone and explained the reason that she was there. The worker wasn’t surprised by that and updated her on the newest development. He asked which island Jiang MingYuan was on and informed her that it would be easier to locate him if they could narrow down the area.

The man had only told her that he would be meeting up with a few others when the last talked. He did not tell her exactly which island he was heading to. As such, Cheng Huan could not be sure of his exact location when they lost contact.

The worker seemed a bit disappointed by that as well. He comforted her a little and took her to hotel nearby and settled her in. They have rescue missions to different locations arranged already and would have news soon enough.

“Thank you,” said Cheng Huan before she walked upstairs carrying XingXing with her.

Cheng Huan booked a room with two twin-size beds and the hotel wasn’t half bad. It didn’t have any strange smells.

She removed XingXing’s jacket and shoes and stuffed him under the blanket. Sitting there and spacing out for a little while, she pulled out her phone again and wanted to check and see if she had gotten any words back. She still had a China SIM card inside and had no reception right now. The hotel did not have wifi service. All she could do with her phone was to check her time on it and that was about it.

Cheng Huan put away her phone, disappointed. She collapsed onto the other bed. She had been awake for 24 hours now. Her body was tired but she was so anxious that she was not sleepy at all.

And that’s how she spent the night. When she got out of bed, she almost fell on her knees. Her head was very heavy and she finally felt a little better after she had washed her face out with some cold water.

The woman in the mirror looked yellow. She had dark circles under her eyes and her lips were pale. She looked like a female ghost in a horror movie. Cheng Huan looked at herself for a while before she patted herself on her cheeks and returned to the room to wake XingXing up. She helped him washed up and had breakfast before she asked a worker the location of the business center. It took a bit of struggle with the language differences before they finally figured out what each other was trying to say.

Cheng Huan found the place from the direction but it was still early and the business center was not opened yet. She waited for over an hour before they were finally opened.

The workers at the business center only spoke the local language and Cheng Huan wasn’t able to communicate with them. After a while, Cheng Huan was starting to lost patience. In the end, it was a Chinese person who happened to come by helped her out and picked a package for her and also paid for Cheng Huan as she had not yet had a chance to get some local currencies.

Cheng Huan converted the amount and paid the person. After walking out of the business center. She couldn’t wait to put the new SIM card into her phone.

With an extra SIM card in her phone, there were addition set up that she needed to do. Completed them patiently before she was finally able to log into WeChat.

There was not much activity in her WeChat. There wasn’t even one new message, just a couple extra public messages.

Cheng Huan leaned against the wall to one side and breathed deeply while gritting her teeth as she dealt with yet another round of disappointment.

She walked back in heavy steps and, half way down the way, her phone vibrated.

Cheng Huan pulled it out with the quickest speed possible but the light in her eyes dimmed down immediately.

It wasn’t a message from any specific person but some headline news from some application. The headline was attention-drawing.
