Chapter 254 - "Keep an eye out on this and find something to keep those two busy." (3)

That was the first thing that Qi Shan saw as soon as he got off the plane. His face changed colors and he quickly walked up to Jiang MingYuan and whispered into his ear.

Cheng Huan noticed that the man didn’t look very happy after hearing the news and asked dubiously, “Is something wrong?”

“No, nothing.” Jiang MingYuan shook his head and reached out his hand to her. “My cellphone was broken. Can I use yours real quick?”

“Oh, sure.” Cheng Huan unlocked her phone and handed it over to him. The man messed around on it then shoved the phone into his pocket with no intention of returning it back to her.

That didn’t bother Cheng Huan much. She wasn’t too reliant on her phone. She was perfectly fine without it.

Everybody was hungry after the 10 plus hours of plane ride. Jiang MingYuan was going to take them out to eat but changed his mind. “I miss your cooking.”

Cheng Huan didn’t mind that. “What would you like?”

The man listed out a few items, none of them difficult to make. Cheng Huan nodded and got out of the car on their way to buy the needed items. Once they had arrived home, the two of them made lunch together. Everything was just like normal.

After lunch, Jiang MingYuan needed to head into the office to take care of a few things. He changed out of his clothes and asked Cheng Huan. “Do you want to come to the office with me?”

Cheng Huan would not normally have turned down such an invitation but, after the scare, she did not want the man out of her sight just yet so she agreed to it after a short hesitation.

Their apartment was only 5 minutes from the office. Their car pulled into the underground garage and the family of three reached the top floor with the elevator.

The top floor belonged to Jiang MingYuan and his team of assistants and very few others would come to this floor. The floor was very quiet and not very many people could be seen in the hallway.

Jiang MingYuan took them into the office and asked if they wanted something to eat.

“No, we are fine. You go do your work.”

“Alright,” said Jiang MingYuan. “There are novels on the bookshelf. You can read them if you are bored.”

“Oh.” Cheng Huan glanced over at the bookshelf next to her and then turned her head. “My cellphone…”

“I still need that. Let me hang on to it for a little while longer.” Jiang MingYuan leaned in and gave her a kiss on the corners of her lips. “Be nice. Just read.”

Cheng Huan, “… …”

Touching the corners of her mouth, she felt that something was off.

Before she could protest, the man had turned. “Okay, I am going to work now.”

Cheng Huan has yet to figure out what was off about it but gave up after hearing what he had said, “…alright.”

XingXing had been here once before. As such, there were his toys in Jiang MingYuan’s office. With no work or electronics, Cheng Huan played the Rubik’s Cube with XingXing for a little while for a change.

She really didn’t know much about this. She spent a whole hour on it and still wasn’t able to return it to its original state. Her son had to show her how.

XingXing was young. He could do it himself but he wasn’t able to explain it. The more he tried to explain the more confused Cheng Huan was. Finally the little teacher got impatient. He tossed the Rubik’s cube aside and said, “Mommy, you are so stupid!”

“What did you say?” Cheng Huan pinched her son on his cheek and gave him a threatening look.

The little kiddo knew exactly when to back off. Hearing her words, he quickly put away his look of resentment and bounced into his mother’s arms. He held onto her cheeks as he let out rainbow farts. “I said mommy is so pretty. You are the prettiest mommy in the world!”

Cheng Huan grunted. “Good call.”

“Hehe.”

***

Jiang MingYuan could hear the giggling of the mother and son occasionally. Watching the two messed around, his tensed face began to relax and even the lines of his brows and lips turned gender.

He looked at them for a while and turned away before they noticed that he was looking. He saw new messages in the dialog box. Reading what was said to him, the temperature in his eyes cooled down. He drummed on the table and sent a text back.

[Jiang MingYuan: Keep an eye out on what is going on online. Remove any similar news and find something to keep those two occupied.]
